Well although techs give you an edge in diplomacy i have always gotten more out of other races with trade goods.sometimes even 4 techs with a single trade good. i am usualy a fediralist and up taxes to 45% and move my Govt spending till i make only 3 or 2 a turn in the begining. i have my atributes 6 tech 3 influence and 1 on sensors. it seems to work rather well for me.if you try it i hope it works well for you too

1)is there a way to see availible SB moduales without having to drag a constructor to a resourse or SB? 1a)after building a module i would like to beable to see what others have come into exsistance to be placed in future 2)is there a way to see goal VCs(victory conditions) in game and how close to each you are? 3)what are best atributes to have at start of game thankyou for your time
im not sure bout this one but i think they are culturaly challenged LOL
good Q. i think it can only be moved if its destroyed not sure tho
personaly ive never had an extended war with an enimy and therefore use little military.however when i do use fighters i usualy send out 3 FGs(fighter groups) of about 10-15 ships and maybe if i have the tech a capital ship and have the 3 FGs attack the same target i usualy send out fighters that have a high number on both ATT and DEF. sooner or later the targets gonna die i mean think about it 45 fighters atacking one capitalship c'mon. "stay on target... stay on target...ITS AWAY!!" :)
"Taking the good path really has no attractive benefits. While from a role-playing POV, it may make sense, it just doesn't jive with winning." I beg to differ i have gone the good path and have culturaly won(so to speak)thrugh obsorbsion of the evil colonies.on top of that the capital of the yor was the first to be obsorbed. all ya really need is afew hevily defended and culturaly equiped stations in a sector and a dinky 15 planet and BAM!!!!!! they are yours
i started a new game a bit ago and after i colinized afew planets i noticed the influence are actualy going down sevral points? what is causing this?my aproval rating is in uper 70sand i have influence resources being mined with the earliest mining techs so im stumped. any suggestions?
well have you tried the fediralist party?they are especaly good with the green(money).Banking centers early will help your cause and they are rather cheap if you have proper spending to them.econimy capitals although expencive will dramaticly help as well so build them in your highest income planet.buy a colony ship first thing when you start.in my experience it helpss alot and the soil enhancement helps alot too.remember the higher the planet number the more efective.in the dinky book that com
Culture bomb? never heard that term. but if you mean overwelhm them with culture starbaces help.buildings like research labs and news network help along with anything that increases star influence
im guessing its a roll of the dice so to speak.usaly what i do is build star bases around my planets and fill them with economic and cultural upgrades early.not only does this help if you run onto civs early in game for the U.P but if they place a colony in your sector they might transfer to your side thugh your cultural dominance.
I've noticed some of you have mtals and bars next to your name and i was wondering how do you get them and what do they mean?
2 things its either extortion or you have tech and forgot ya do and if neither is case then obviously its a bug
im swedish and have it darned fun 2
personaly im not a military might to any degree but i think all ya need to do is build a star base about 2 sectors away from your max range in a corner nearest them. then max the thing out on Att/Def and then send your ships on their way to death. but personaly i overwelm thrugh culture building the culture and economic enhancements and then place a dinky planet with a news network and embasy.
I for 1 am glad they don't anounce them. for one it in a sense forces you to try to build them first by not knowing if someone else is constructing it.plus as mentioned above you could just flat out buy it if he gets close and to me thats cheating.plus that might make it too much like CIVILIZATION 3.
What are the Evil techs/advantages vs the good techs/advantages?
Your all wrong its the sub-race the I-Leauge who are the strongest. Sound strange?well considering they can pretty much reduce your(and other civs.) planets thrugh defection they can quickly screw ya over to the point of ultamate defeat either by them or another race do to their weakening your econemy/war waging ability.
Every game i play i am technologicly unadvanced so to speak.i have tryed evrything but setting my abilitys to research 10 & espianage its rediculus. and yes my political party is the technolagists. any sugestions?
goo idea perhaps marxist comunisim? thats a nice evil gov't
perhaps but it might give some a better understanding of how the games features work.personaly i doubt i would need it considering i've been on computers since the age of the atari and have played almost if not every type of game out there.
i saw in a previus post that the game doesent come with a tech tree(s). is this for any paticular reason?
if any of you have played SC$(simcity 4) it also has a brochure for a manual prettymuch forcing you to buy a strategy guide. personaly i dont have game yet unfortinately do to avalability in my area but am hopeing to get it soon..
the demo seems to be a lost art.i remember back in the day when they were all over the place.makes me wonder....... :notsure: what happened to em
I'm thinking of buying the game and was wondering what u guys think of the game? on a scale from 1-10 ten being the best as far as graphics and playability go.
