Evil Govs

Has there been any talk about having evil gov types for evil civs? Would be neat for Evil civs to have evil govs like some form totalitarianism (hope thats spelled right) etc

Imperial is already pretty evil by nature, but it's a certainly an interesting idea. The problem is that most of those government types would negate the Senate, which is an integral part of your late-game empire management.

true, Evil govs would have some negative aspects... I think evil govs could also introduce some revolutions, in which a senate is brought in etc.

You could have an evil senate complete with it's own form of infighting.. Look at the mafia, they had a 'comission' which the head family lost control of and now they're a shadow of their former selves.

And there are examples in the real world of not-so-nice confederations, democracies, and republics.

They tend to be somewhat better than imperialism because of the lessened power of individual politicians in those gomernment types ('power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.' Without the absolute part, corruption is slower to spread and more subtle, but still present), but it's not a constant.

Not Marxist Communism. That's never existed. Perhaps the closest to ever exist was Sparta, and they owned slaves.

No, the applied communism has been its own thing. Not really communism, just something that wore its colors to get people to go along.
