Hi Llamas, Can you be a little more descriptive about the issue you've run into? Is this an auto-save, is it a manual save? How much did you remembering having control of? Does the time match up with how long you were in the game? Is it possible you loaded an auto-save instead of your manual save? Those are in different tabs on the save loading screen.

Just want to confirm that you're running the Epic Client when you're trying to start the game as well right? What's the default language your PCs are set to? Shouldn't impact the game starting, but it's good to have as much info as we can gather about this. Check your log file location for Sins2, should be C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\sins2\logs and try to get us the most recent log file in the directory. If it's empty, you may be having some sort of operating system

Are you still getting this issue on the latest build of the game with a new save?
Newly created ships rallying to a location will take the safest route to their destination unless otherwise directed. Sometimes phase lanes will change on the rotating map and can lead to some odd decisions. If you're encountering weird behavior that you want to report to us make a save and post it here and we'll be able to take a look.
Will be fixed in the next update.

Users passing along save files typically zip the file up and link us to something like a google drive link, Dropbox, or OneDrive. If you're on the community discord you can also link to it there in the SitRep's channel.
Can you provide the save file for download? We can look to see if there is a bug or simply a misunderstanding.

As long as all players have the same version of the same mod it should work fine.
Starbases are meant to be part of an integrated network of orbital structures working together to make a planet tougher to crack before your fleet can arrive. Building toward the planetary shield component and various armor and weapon components, and then layering your starbase in a network of tightly placed defensive repair structures and guns forces your opponent to fight the starbase before they can even scratch your planet.
