Jesus Christ, its been over two years, and people are still playing this thing??!!!! This has to be the biggest thread in Stardock history. If someone was looking through the data archives on whatever mainframe hosts this site and saw the size of this file compared to the others not knowing what it was, he'd think it was some kind of glitch!

There was a LOT left. However, after giving some thought, I might just write out the end chapters (I had the whole plot planned out), showing the massive battle that destroys the Dread Lords. For old times sake. When Galciv3 is announced, I'll write the rest out when the community is active again.

I hate to say this, but due to the fact I no longer work on this, I've decided to abandon this story. Thanks to everyone who read this story and supported it. It was a good ride.
The thing is, all games nowadays are fast paced, especially strategy games, and I not a big fan of fast paced either.
Seriously, man. The state of the RTS genre is in a rut these days. Make me want to take some game design classes, learn how to use the Unity engine, and design a badass space combat RTS that's slow paced, no base building, true tactics centric, and just allows you you take in the moment and watch shit blow up wit

I bought Company of Heroes recently when it was on sale because of all the good reviews. The campaign provides good narrative and decent mission structure, but man, playing skirmishes, I'm starting to think I wasted my money. The pace is WAY too fast, and playing as the Americans, the German army has some really unfair advantages (they have better, well, everything). The whole concept seems off to me. Instead of constructing buildings that produce resources, you have go around the map and

I want damn near every federal agency shut down, no income tax, no sin taxes, no regulatory bodies, no federal grants of any kind, just a stripped down, lean mean federal government that does one and only one thing. Blows shit up when people fuck with us. Being self aware, I realize that I'm probably out there in crazy land. Being historically knowledgeable, I've got damn good company in my lunacy.[/qu

Mission rewards are a lot higher now. Hell, by the time you complete the main storyline (very lame and leaves a lot of unanswered questions), you have a small

All right, I am back in action! I will not be able to write for a week, as I will be out of the state, but I will still write stuff by hand while I am gone. Things are heating up now! Chapter 10 Jordan and Aelytha stood up and left the cell, following their respective escorts. Before she turned the corner, she gave Jordan a longing glance over her shoulder. Jordan and his guards reached the room where the hearing had taken place. He then entered, the gua

Not all DLC is bad. A lot can be free. Nadeo's mini expansions for its Trackmania games have all been free. Egosoft releases free "updates" for its X Series, which not only fix things but add a lot of new things to do. EVE Online releases its expansions for free (you do have to pay monthly, but expansions come often, and arguably have more content and can be enjoyed more than a WoW expansion). EA released free map packs for Battlefield Bad Company 2 (not sure about BF3, because their doin

Combat should hopefully be improved, as well as ship fitting (actually taking up slots in weapons interface instead of sitting in a cargo hold). As for the hopes of some players, cockpits may return, based on one blurry screenshot from a demo video posted. (X3: Reunion and Terran Conflict did not have cockpit displays, the camera was positioned right outside the ship, though there are mods available.) I'm not too crazy about cockpits. They may be more realistic, but with Reunion a

Don't you mean X: Rebirth? This is what they've been working on. X3: Reunion came out in 2005. The X series is a brilliant series of space games, though very tricky to really get into. X Rebirth looks amazing so far, and it looks like it will be more accessible to new players, which is good. Still no multiplayer, and while I can understand the difficulty of implementing full on co op gameplay, a simple deathmatch/team deathmatch would be fairly easy. Still excited.

To my few remaining readers. I've been bogged down with assignments and upcoming AP tests, so I haven't been able to write much. After school these days, I just prefer to tune out to my games rather than write. I will have some new stuff posted soon. The plot will soon get out of this sort of slow pace it's in right now, and get back to the war. Although I have most of the plot worked out, I still welcome questions and suggestions.

Ever since Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was released at $60 dollars, all the big publishers have started pricing games at 60 dollars, Crysis 2, Battlefield 3, Starcraft 2, Assassin's Creed 2, Bulletstorm, its a really become a negative trend now. While PS3 and Xbox 360 games have always been $60, $10 of that went into Sony or Microsoft's pocket. There's no reason for PC other than to price gouge. All I see is greed, and with these publishers you get little to no patch support, D

Sins of a Solar Empire: Can't belive this hasnt been mentioned yet. This is arguably the first game to mix empire building and space combat in one continuous real time setting. Probably the first RT4X game. Galactic Civilizations II: Probably the best AI that the TBS genre, hell strategy genre, will probably ever see. Roller Coaster Tycoon: The original ideas are the best. It was great fun building giant amusement parks, and this series was better than any other

Chapter 9 Jordan sat in his small cell, feeling a mixture of despair, fear, and anger. Jim had betrayed him and Altos. He had his mind tainted by Tresia’s influence, and was now using it against his personal enemies. Still, Jordan feared most for Altos, Evars, and other senior command staff who had tried to meet with him. If the news escaped, which it would, the foundations for a massive scandal would be layed out. Jordan imagined the headlines. “Top Ter
