Smart exception needs to be running while you're playing. I think you need to start it before you start the game, but I may be wrong. If you need it, Brad's posted a link in somewhere, but I can't seem to find it, so maybe he can repost it. When the game crashes, smart exception writes a log file in its directory, and the log is what's was copied and pasted here. Hope that helps :D

Well, its just my lucky day isn't it ;) . I don't really know what was exactly caused it (I was looking at the football game while the AI did its thing). Here's the smart exception log. I'm not really certain if the space shark was the direct cause of the crash, but right after it finished attacking one of my systems, it crashed. Here's the smart exection log.... I don't colonize them. It was discussed a while back that anything lower than 15 is more trouble than its worth. The population is unhappy, and thus produces slowly. It may be easier to keep them happy in 4A, but I don't think many here would recommend bothering with those planets....

In 4A, I've noticed that the social production doesn't pop-up early in the game. The military production does, however. Also, it seems that the message window in the lower right corner also lags behind when it comes to social production, maybe about a turn or 2, and that's when it actually reports it. As the game progresses, social production is reported properly. But early in the game, I'm having to scroll through the planet window to make certain everybody's busy ;)

I've been gone for about a week, but when I scanned the board, I didn't see if anyone has brought this up yet... I remember, in 3Z I think, there was a discussion about the research being WAY too fast. I agree that research speed was out of control then, but I feel that it may have been overcompensated for. Starting the game, I've got +7 research bonus. I always start with communication theory. Now I understand that I've got only 1 planet to start off with, but it takes 12 turns to

The message window in the left corner informed me that the defenses of one of my planets was holding, the problem is, that it wasn't, the attack had destroyed my defender. When the attack was repulsed, the message was correct. If I remember correctly, this worked in beta 3...

I started a colony ship to go to a system, but as soon as I did that I realized I wanted it to go elsewhere. Since the screen snaps back to the ship after right clicking on the system, I was able to click on the ship to stop it from moving. It had, already though, rotated and subtracted 1 from the movement points. It had not, however, moved from its position, so it was at 1/2. When I redirected it, since it "thought" it had previously moved, it only moved 1 space. Not major, but slightly an

I'm almost at the end of the game (me and the Arceans left) and I've notice a couple things. I was looking at the Diplomacy screen and on the UP screen the influence doesn't add up to 100%. I had 94% and they had 5%. After a couple turns, it changed to me 95% and them 4%, still not 100%. Not a big deal, but it should be at 100%. I've never looked earlier to see if it adds up. Also, on the Treaty screen of Diplomacy, it says we have a trade treaty, but neither of us have any trade.

I clicked on the ? for info and got this back: People will like our culture..or else. 15 514nfluence bonus The formatting is done the way it appears in the window. I've been looking at the info windows to see if they were updated, and this is the first one that I've seen that was a bit odd...

Damn, and I was so looking forward to it ;) . On a serious note, I think it would be a good idea. I don't want to make suggestions that are already in the works or listed as a 1.x probability. Its a waste of your time to go through essentially repeated posts, and a waste of my time to post it too :)

Influence is usually the best way. If you have a star base near it, load up on all the cultural upgrades. If you don't have a star base near it, send a constructor there and do the same thing. Also build wonders and things that increase your prestige (I think star prestige is also related to your influence). I do want to add a little note to this. This was doable in the previous beta, but I haven't played with 3Z or 3Z-1 to know if its still the same. Good luck!!

I have a couple of ideas for things that I'd like to see, maybe for 1.x. When a new game is started, I'd like a little more customization of the map. Right now, I play with habitable planets on everywhere and a large galaxy. I like having a random map, but a lot of times the random map is just bad. I can't tell you how many times I've quit and started a new game as soon as I started because I'm all by myself in a corner of the map with no star systems in my sector or the surroundin

Wow! 80%. I moved it from ~20 to about 30%. The morale didn't decrease immensely. The spending amount didn't change a lot, but any change is a change. I guess the small amount could be due to the slight morale decrease....

I was wondering if this was going to be changed in the future. The unexplained rifts, and I forgot what the other is, that give research, frequently are worthless. On the other hand, the free form gases always give something. I think all of the anomalies should either always give something or should all be random something or nothing. Its gotten to a point where I skip the rifts if they are in an awkward position because its iffy whether or not its worth it. The gases I always go

I noticed this last night and I was wondering what the reason was. I was changing the tax rate (increasing it) and I noticed that the total spend amount, not spend rate, was decreasing. I also changed the spend rate, and saw the tax amount changing. I would think the amounts for each of them should change independent of the other.....

LOL Sorry, I have to laugh at that a bit.... But cool, thanks. Being that I'm on the slow end, I'm curious to know how pathetic I am ;) , and how quickly people have switched to the new fast chips....

I did the poll at work. Now I'm at home and I can't see the results. Is there anyway to see them? Its not the end of the world, but I'm kinda curious to know what the breakdown is....

Someone, I've forgotten who, it was a while ago, made a search engine for the forum. I have it bookmarked at home, so I can't link it now, but if someone else could that might be very helpful to us mere "citizens" ;)

That sounds about right for resource priority ;) though my morale has never gotten that low. Its usually about 50%, but I'm cranking out the morale boosting social projects. Lucky Jack - 50% tax rate!!!! I start with it at about 35% and then as soon as I can, I drop it to gain any little bit of morale I can. But then again, when Sol usually starts out at ~50-60% I can never expect my people to be happy can I?
