Race says I'm at war when I'm not

In my current game in Beta 3E I just had the Bradian's pop up a message that stated: "Your continuing war with the Yor Collective is endangering our economy therefore we are declaring war on you"

The only problem is that I'm not at war with anyone let alone the Yor this declaration from the Bradian's is the first war of the game.

I'm confused.

That may be but if I go to the diplomacy screen the Bradian's are now at war with me and no one else is.

Do you mean that they are selecting the wrong race to send their declaration of war to?

If so then I think the proper response to that is "whoops" :)

Its an odd thing I have seen to. I have been in several undeclared wars and unasked for alliances. Occasionallty I find I am at war with or have an ally I havent even discovered yet.

The relations info in 3E seems to be pretty screwy all round.

For example, in one recent game I checked the relationship screen and it told me none of the majors were at war with any other. Speaking to the Yor, however, told me they were at war just about all except me, whilst speaking to all the others tells me they are at peace!

I've also noticed in several games that the Arceans are allied to themselves.

These bugs are not without their humorous side - in my current game the Yor surrended themselves to the Pirates, then a few turns later the Torians told me they had surrended to the Yor. Wondering if the Yor had come back into play I checked over the Torians old planet and was astonished to find it was owned by the Space Shark!

Better still, I'm now on friendly terms with both the Pirates and the Space Shark, as I can access their diplomacy screens from the planet screen and have exhanged peace treaties with both so I'm not getting attacked by either now.

hahaha. Well the diplomacy part of the game is currently undergoing an overhaul so it wouldn't do much good to send saved games on this.

There will be all new bugs in beta 4 on this. ;)

I just had something similar - the Carinoids have just given me starships to conduct my battle against the Yor. Neither the Yor nor I have heardf anything about this war. The only species I am at war with now is the space monster. (Who in my last game managed to take over the entire Yor Collective!)

An even odder thing just happened. The Yor just gave me some starships for use in my war against...the Yor.

The Space Monster is handled as a seperate civilization, but in the last build it was saved in the save game with the same name as the last real civ written out, which usually turns out to be the Yor. This could be what was causing the quirks mentioning wars with the Yor.

I love the races that are allied with and (further down the list) also at war with the same race. That's gotta cause some confusing governmental meetings LOL
