can someone link me to the REGISTRATION page through the GALCIV site. The sales lady KIM (great person) said that there should be one here but I couldn't find it.

well I tried everything. I am going to now create a new and different account using my Yahoo e-mail address. Hopefully this wont mess things up any worse...I kept my same real name...but changed my nick name to Silver Spider...and of course changed my e-mail address.
Okay...Admiral Thanx for the help everyone. I will try all the steps...then let you all know. It has to be something that I am doing or it is an issue with my system and STARDOCK. It seems as though everyone else has made the connection flawlessly. One other point here...I used my SCHOOL e-mail account and as such maybe that is where the problem is. For example the last run of letters in my e-mail account is @gsm.uci.edu I wonder if the .edu part is
Thanx Terl That is when I run into "PROBLEMS". Stardock central will not allow me to update using the "updates" system. It keeps telling me to register my product. It has to be a STARDOCK issue and not STRATEGYFIRST. I will call sales again.
Well I just downloaded the 1.1 patch from the DOWNLOADS section of this website. It says that it is version 1.1 (with bonus pack) During the game when you hit the MENU button and then look at the top of the screen mine says 1.04. So I have to figure that the 1.1 patch is newer that my version. I could swear that on STARDOCK central that it says I already have 1.1 though. So am I missing 1.11, 1.12 and 1.13...assuming that each was released in order?
Yes...the right lower portion that says register...that is when I get the error message. When I hit the "register" button.
Well...I am not sure. I doubt it...that link looks like it is specifically used to post scores to the metaverse. I will submit my info later but I don't see how that solves my PATCH problem. All I need right now is connection to STARDOCK so that I can patch my game. Right now I can't patch my game because STARDOCK keeps telling me that my e-mail account doesn't match what their system has. All I did was created my Brasscorpion name...which the system asked me to do...downloa
Yes it had the number on the back of the jewell case. Also I went to the StrategyFirst website and they do have a place to register the product. But I am having trouble with making the connection of registering my product with StrategyFirst on their site and STARDOCK. I thought the STARDOCK SYSTEM was pretty much self contained. I don't have the CD case with me now (low whispering voice...) I'm at work. Maybe that is the key...since it is a retail version may
I just called them and they told me to contact STRATEGYFIRST. Was I supposed to go and register my product with strategy first...first? [Message Edited]
Hi everyone Can someone (with connections) notify STARDOCK that I am having troubles with registering my retail version of GALCIV. I have sent both Sales and Support an e-mail and have yet to receive a response. I am on the west coast and it is 10:00am so somebody should be working at STARDOCK by now. Thanxs
No wonder... Every time I play I get beat to a bloody stump...but when I look at the analysis screens at the end...ALL of the aliens each had a TAX RATE of 39%. They are trying to avoid that next big hit against morale. So my next strategy is going to be, to set the tax rate at 39% and just leave it there. The last game I played said that I had an average of -5bc a month. Needless to say I got pounded in that game too. LOL
Sure When I try to register my RETAIL version of GalCiv...I get an error message that says "The e-mail address that you have entered does not match our records. Please try again." Also when I first log-on to stardock I immediatley get the error message after the timer shows up. "Failed to validate your Gal Civ registration information." That is it...I am playing the game and I have my code from the back of the Jewell case and I entered all this stuff when I s
I wished I could update my version to the latest. I still can't register my retail version. >:( Says my e-mail is not the same as the one submitted...which is wrong. Oh well...I'll just have to play the 1.04 until someone responds to my e-mail that I sent to support.
I'll try tonight and let you know. I am seeing the Return of the King at 3:10 west coast time. Can I choose which patch to download or will it automatically update to 1.13. That one has a tech tree error from what I heard and I would rather get a clean version? Off to see the show... [Message Edited]
I tried to right click on a tech AND the tech tree didn't display. Just a side not when I click on MENU at the top of the screen, the version I am using seems to be BUILD 1.04 or something like that. The retail version with out a patch I guess.
Thanks for all the tips I played again last night and actually did better...I switched to INDUSTRIALISTS. And changed my civilization bonuses. You know, your right...I noticed that the aliens seem to be able to move faster to the good planets. Early in this game my population took a heavy dip in comparison to the other factions but I am on my way up. I totally missed the concept of selling tech for cash...what I ended up doing was trading tech for tech...so I researc
Well I don't really have a strategy per-se but when I played my first game...it seemed that no matter what I did, I couldn't out research the aliens. I was playing at the normal level. I did spend alot of my money on SOCIAL developing each planet which I think is an error especially if your trying to go the tech route. But it was my first game so there will be a big learning curve.
Thanks Peter That is what I meant. "See" the tech tree so I can map out a path...I just picked up the game so I am trying to learn all the tricks. Cheers Brasscorpion
Can you get to the full tech tree while playing the game...Like shown in the link above? Is there one located in the game so we can do some analysis before picking a path? Thanx up front
Oh Yeah I also played as UNIVERSALISTS. I think this is a bad idea, because you automatically become a "jack of all trades, excellent at none". I have determined that POPULATION is very important to cash because that becomes your tax base. If I am not mistaken "the quality of your planet greatly determines how rapidly your population grows, so if you are competing against aliens that have planets with 20+ ratings...you are automatically behind the eight ball. So if yo
Thanks ADMIRAL and NASTAVNIK I did as you suggested (the same night that I registered my STARDOCK account) and I kept getting an error while trying to register the game. The error message said the my account name (e-mail) that I entered wasn't the same as the one I officially registered with. Possibly the problem could have been that I was trying to update to early and that STARDOCK hadn't finished loading in my profile. I don't know...I will try again tonight
I just played my first game last night...and I got pounded...the game lasted about 6 years (MAX). I started on a small universe. I set all the opponent levels to NORMAL. This game was no where close to being NORMAL. I mean I thought I was a pretty bright person...but there was no way that I could have managed my money better...I was watching the military spending, research spending, and everything. After the game was over I looked at the summaries and all the races had made
Hi everyone. I know I am getting into the game really late but I have been waiting to buy the game since its release. My wife finally bought it for me as an X-mas present. She got it from FRY's...and I then downloaded STARDOCK and went through all of the install stuff. So my question is this...How does a person know what version they are running. In STARDOCK it says my version is GALCIV with add on pack. How do I make sure that I am running 1.13? <B
