Most up to date version

Hi everyone.

I know I am getting into the game really late but I have been waiting to buy the game since its release. My wife finally bought it for me as an X-mas present.

She got it from FRY's...and I then downloaded STARDOCK and went through all of the install stuff.

So my question is this...How does a person know what version they are running.

In STARDOCK it says my version is GALCIV with add on pack.

How do I make sure that I am running 1.13?

First you must download Stardock, second you must register your game with Stardock, in the right han lower corner of the Stardock screen it is a small box, that when you click on it you can register your game, after you have done that you go to software in the top toll bar and click on it, any new update that your game may need will be listed there.

Hello brasscorpion.
Welcome to the forum.
As for your question, it is my understanding you have stardock central installed.
So,
if you go to the software page (just under the "File" menu), and click in "games" you will see the list of games available to you. When you select Galactic Civilizations, you will be able to see your current version and if any updates are available (you will see it on the left of the screen aswell, after the brief description of the game).
Latest version now is 1.13

Hope this helps. Don't hesitate to ask if you have questions about the game. The people in here are very nice and always willing to help.
Enjoy the game!

Thanks ADMIRAL and NASTAVNIK

I did as you suggested (the same night that I registered my STARDOCK account) and I kept getting an error while trying to register the game.

The error message said the my account name (e-mail) that I entered wasn't the same as the one I officially registered with.

Possibly the problem could have been that I was trying to update to early and that STARDOCK hadn't finished loading in my profile.

I don't know...I will try again tonight...but I was positive that I logged in correctly with the proper account information (e-mail).

Whats the JEDI REPUBLIC all about? ;)

We are in search of THe Forec bot ways thru the good nice way (the Jedis) and the Dark Side (The Siths) so make your pick. If you keep having problems you could go to www.wincustomize.com and try to change your e-mail address over there.

this is the link http://www.wincustomize.com/

and go to edit account if you are already signed, otherwise sign in and then go to edit account and you can change your e-mail there. If that doesnot work post a topic and ask Carielf for help.

You can join empires within the metaverse. There are many of them, the Jedi Republic being one of them. If you click on the person's name in the thread, their profile opens up and you can check out the empire from there. Or, you can click on metaverse and then top empires and click on different ones. You can even create your own empire.

Also, are you using Stardock Central, a program you download from Stardock, to update and register your game? Or, are you trying to get the patches via the website (I got the email not the same error too, I have a retail version too). I would recommend highly that you use Stardock Central. It works great and you can get the updates quickly. You can even post in these forums from it.

Alternatively, when you are within the game, you can go to the game menu screen (the menu where you can choose to save, retire, etc). The version number is at the top of the screen.

If you're considering empiring, I encourage you to take a look at the empire threads to see what sort of discussion goes on. Each empire has its own unique "personality"--Fellowship of the Ring has a lot of strategy discussion, Special Forces has a lot of fiction writing, and so on.
