Well, for one, impossible difficulty is meant to be impossible :) Otherwise, your best chance at killing the ai, is by getting a superior economy, fast colonization, and then killing it's fleet with defence turrets, after which you can capture a few planets, and repeat the process. Hey, thank you for this feedback! Early game, I guess the reason to have such extensive repairs was that you did not kill javelis frigates asap, during the colonization phase. Those monsters deal insane damage to capital ships. If you do not want to bother with microing your fleet, I recommend going with the sova carrier, as it includes 9 flak cannons, which can shoot enemy missiles (a new game feature!) Hey! As we are in our technical preview stage, we are highly thankful for such long feedback, as it allows us to directly implement it into the game. I cannot promise anything, especially some of the concepts of yours do sound difficult to implement, but it for sure gives us another perspective!
AI did get some updates in the past few patches, but as currently game features are not finlized (just look at how trade ports changed over the time), it may be a waste of time investing all too much time into specific parts of the game, which may see drastic changes. Overall, it is important to get feedback like this, so I thank you for it. And if you want to play with other casual players, we have every Saturday a gaming event. :)
It is fine, we all make mistakes :) As for the question - "how soon" - early access for supernova begins on 27th of April. So I'd say very soon ;)
We do not know the extant of the new modding tools, but we can say for sure, that modders will have significantly more freedom. The ideas for different scenarios or even campaign have been raised by multiple members of the community. So we are looking for options to give modders possibilities to actually create that kind of stuff.
Currently it is likely that AI is just limited and declines those offers per default. Keep in mind, this is not even "alpha". Or did I get it wrong, and you have issues, while playing with friends?
