Re the lag in towns issue - it is very dependent on the town - I play mostly in Correlia which has a relatively low population and no noticeable lag. When I went sightseeing on Tatooine my framerate dropped noticeable and paly became quite jerky until I got out of town - a quick look at the number of blue (other PCs) dots on the radar showed why though!! Seems every player wants to visit the Mos Eisley cantina!! On player interdependency - well that's really the whole point of MMORPGs

Mr Pink - its not MOO3 trust me on that - I have played both. Miguel guys in my PA seem pretty happy just to build fairly large industrial empires with mines, power stations, houses and factories. For those who want to actually play a game :) there are destroy missions (vs animals from general stations or vs imperial installations from rebel stations; havent tried imperial ones. there are delivery missions (I cant be bothered as I dont need cash) there are fi

Read up a few posts Pont and you will see my views on why it is different. I am not at all sure what all these bugs are people are referring. I have /bugged twice since release and both things have been fixed. I think they will need to introduce more content, at the moment it feels a little like DAoC in terms of content, although in fairness I have spent most of my time on a single planet, and indeed around a single city. i plan to travel some once I get my skills set - reall

As I noted it was difficult to get in on the first day...that's not a bug. There was a near game-destroying problem with hotkeys not being saved which has been fixed. Other than that I am not sure what all these bugs are that you refer to. The game is well designed for solo or group play. Groups can be up to 20 members (but they are in my experience something of a clusterfuck at that level as people are still not sure of there roles (MT, puller, etc) and there are a lot of people pla

One minor irritation is a bunch of folk in my PA ("guild" for EQ people) arent really into combat - they are frantically building vast mining and power complexes or being entertainers (the graphics are pretty good and some skilled entertainers are, well, pretty graphic :) )

Well all time spent playing computer games is "wasted time". I did a short review on the ANZAC empire thread. I played EQ for 3 years and just gave up in boredom. SWG seems to have managed to take some of the best features of a number of games. I suspect very strongly that the very juvenile players will migrate back to EQ or whevever very quickly when they find that it is very difficult to grief other players, almost impossible to powerlevel or twink. It's been out for less

SW No the skill up system for artisans is not *quite* like that. In fact I think it is pretty easy - I am not even trying to be an artisan and mine is going up just from making and using various items I need. You dont get exp from making stuff - only from other people using them. I have been playing since SAturday (not power pplaying) and my highest skill (Expert Pistol) is 3/4 of the way up the general marksman tree (before you specialise) so I do not think progress

Hey SW Yeah I spent all weekend playing SWG (and I mean *all* weekend). there were some initial log in problems and also some issues with the UI not remaining stable between log in and log (or crash) out. The graphics are awesome, I mean really awesome. You *have* to spend R&R time watching entertainers to lower your battle fatigue, and some of them are really really good :). The designed player interdependency is also really interesting as is the experience system.

In the beginning In the beginning God created day and night. He created day for footy matches, going to the beach and barbies. He created night for going prawning, sleeping and barbies. God saw that it was good. Evening came and morning came and it was the Second Day. On the Second Day God created water - for surfing, swimming and barbies on the beach. God saw that it was good. Evening came and morning came and it was the Third Day. On the Third D

Well given the choice of my kids watching the Wiggles (4 wholesome not-quite-so-young-any-more Aussie lads, 5 if you count Captain Feathersword) or Barney (a saccharine sweet purple dinosaur with and oh-so-carefully-balance racial mix of wholesome (yet strangely repellent) American kids I would take them outside to play in the pool.

Well I will actually be submitting a game score today! Just finshing a gigantic game (last 2 empires down to a couple of systems each) for military victory. Would have finsihed last night but as anyone who knows me will attest..I need my beauty sleep. SWG opens today so will be giving that a try this weekend.

I'm more a wine drinker Ray :) American beer leaves me pretty cold (actually so does most American wine...). The Last Samurai was also made in New Zealand; film production outfits like it because it has cheap flexible labour and nice scenery. Downside is fairly unpredictable weather and (compared with other countries) a fairly unfriendly tax regime.

Ray You have no idea what a big deal LOTR was in New Zealand. Literally thousands of folk (out of a population of 4 million) worked on that in one capacity or another. It still makes me homesick watching it :). Welcome aboard bakka. I cant seem to get in the mood to play ANY computer games at the moment (well except progressquest). I start up a Galciv get bored, try HoI wonder what I am doing, fire up EU II and just give up. Maybe I need to get out the PS2 and play
