Hi Brad, Any chance that Game X is Sins of a Solar Empire 2?
duijver
This may be the wrong place, but does anyone know if the main corporate Plymouth, MI office is open to visitors? It would be awesome if they had like some type of gift shop that had tee shirts or something too. Waze may have been playing games with me, but it brought me to a pretty large office building that had nothing but metal beams and a road block.
Let me start by saying that I have been supporting Elemental since the Beta. I did not take an active role in posting feature requests, etc, but I played a good portions of the beta(s) across ALL of the games. I own almost every game SD makes (or publishes) and this was an instant buy when I saw it was available. I think SD needs to send out email(s) to previous customers to rally up additional support, feedback, and maybe funding (if needed). I know
Great job! I have not had a chance to play FE yet, but I have been following the threads since the beginning of FE and I can't wait to finally dig in later tonight. On a side note, reading what I have, I have not wanted to dig into (an) Elemental (game) this much since I saw the first early screenshots - back when the originally was little more than a prototype. :) Thanks again for following through with the tough challenges and never giving up!
This is great news! No reason to install Gamestopper any longer for a single game! woo hoo!
I have WER dump files and probably FE dumps if they get created. I just alt-tabbed to open an RDP connection and came back to a DX error and the game closed. I saw sitting at the character creation screen. hardware: Dell XPS 17" 2Gen - 8GB ram - i7 - nvidia GT 555M video card w/ 2GB RAM - Windows 7 SP1.
Quoting duijver, reply 32 I'm sure that it will go on sale one day soon. A few months after it's released, probably, which itself is quite a few months away.
The bright side of things ... it will contain many balancing tweaks and less bugs! [e digicons]:star:[/e]
I can appreciate that it was posted to the board; however, what little time I have to game is spent gaming.. not reading forums. And yes, almost all corporations shaft their users and while Stardock did not create Rebellion there is still a pretty bad taste in my mouth after Demigod and Elemental. So, maybe it is best to wait till it gets released on Steam so only IronClad gets their cut. I'm sure that it will go on sale one day&n
they really removed the pre-order discount for previous Sin owners? WTF? I fell in love with Sins on coop vs AI and dumped a lot of time into it, but really I agree with others that $40 is a lot for a few small changes. I was all ready to buy my two copies at the original 30 mark, and while $10 may not seem like much.. I am still out of $40-50 from my elemental purchase that will most likely never be usable. Com'on Stardock or I guess now capitalist
Hi Ryat. 1. There is a starbase ability/slot called Phase Stablizer. The way I read the description is that it allows me to utilize a planet based phase stabilitizer to lane ships between my planet(s) and that starbase. It was not functioning as such. To the second then at least I was not going nuts and maybe that same bug was affecting the star base(s). 2. Yes, that is correct. We play pretty much the same way all the time and it never happened before
Nice job guys! Always nice to see so many updates in a short amount of time. It's great seeing that the AI does not ask you to do missions every 3-5 minutes in endless waves. It looks like you stopped them from requesting missions against your ally as well - kudos! I am still a pretty new user, but some things I have observed since the newest patch before 1.32 and it was not mentioned in the release notes. Sorry if I just misunderstood how something
+1 to the guarding of caravans with some type of troop/unit or upgrade.
Agreed with many other posters, the game mechanics are far more important at this point than tutorials and graphics. There are quite a few unstoppable strategies in the game. They are made possible by AI "blind spots" combined with poorly balanced mechanics. I'm not saying all the mechanics are bogus, just that some of them suffer from bad balancing. Really bad balancing. You know, "suck the fun out of game bad". For what it'
This will probably not get read by dev; however, I did want to add in that not everyone can easily upgrade their video drivers. Yes, gamers are by nature pretty technical, but there are cases were users just want to jump in. Some notebooks have video card drivers that have not been updated in ages and laptop2go drivers are hit-and-miss with performance and heat. Yet, work fine when you use the older manufacture drivers. For example, I have been having video arti
I mentioned this in beta 4. It was great fighting off guys.. blast them with confusion and a spell that took 2 mana (area attack) and everything rolled over for my empire. I can't remember what spell it was since I have not played in about a month.. That spell seemed way too powerful though.
Guys.. I think SD is fast asleep after their marathon of patching [e digicons]:waaaa:[/e] I'm sure I will have the problem too.. since I had it during the beta's on 3 different systems (ATI and NVidia cards..), but give them some ZzZzZz. In the mean time.. If you have not reinstalled follow Nvidia's recommendation for installing a new driver - this requires you remove the old driver in safe mode - http
Thanks for all the work!! Awesome job guys (and gals) ! *can't wait to load up his first non-beta game!*
You can get more essence during a level-up - one of the choices.
I agree with the OP on many of his observations if some of these things are not added to the main patch release/0day. I have not played 1.0 yet, but after playing a few beta versions I had hoped that the final release would not be as cumbersome to jump into. I'm sure that Stardock will step up and fix these issues and the memory/ctd issues that still perssist. We will just have to wait it out like we did with Demigod.
There is a slider in the options to fight all tactical battles... but it's not named friendly. Set it from 3 to 1 or 0 (can't remember.) I have not had a chance to play the final game yet, but in the beta I had this issue. My main guy had 0 attack, but plenty of sells. The tactical - auto-combat, would never use magic so I would die each time. To get around this, there was a setup option (last tab I think?) that said something like seed b
I like the idea of the spell going back into the realm as well.. maybe have a quest spawn somewhere where in the world that can be solved to obtain (learn) it. On a side note.. I've never really had a problem with enemy sovereigns fleeing since they always seemed to go right after my cities again and poof they were dead along with all of their cities gone. I found that sovereigns, in beta 4 at least, did not have the correct logic in that they would attack a he
This problem pretty much went away once I began running it in window mode - at full resolution. You may want to try that and see if it works around the current issue so that you can continue multi-tasking until the 0 day comes out :)
I would imagine that a save feature would be required, but saving and loading always scares me. I find that most out of sync (loading or differences in the world between the two PCs) is most prominent in a game that is loaded. I'm hoping that EL is not affected by that since everything is XML driven.. but that did not stop AOE3 from sync dumping... then again that game is a sloppy mess code wise that still lags on i7's and top of the line video cards.
I'm not sure if this has been fixed and it is minor, but there are no checks to verify that a city has not already been named as such before. I had two cities named the same, and although I could not reproduce it, I had a group of heroes jump into one city and end up in the other city. Good free teleport! I'm sure that in the back-end each city has some type of unique identifier (xml wise), but I figured I would throw it out there in case my teleport iss
