I had to re-install the games and they auto installed onto my 50G limited partitian drive instead of my main data drive. (1Tb 50g part / 950g part Data Drive) Is there any way to "move" the install and not have the game freak out not want to run? I know stupid question from some dumb guy, but what the hell, I wanna know. :D

I clicked on the small 500 next to the mini map and when I placed my mouse within the pop up map and moved my wheel mouse up, the game crashed with an "unusual way" runtime error. System: Intel C2D 3.0 ghz - OS XP sp3, 4 gigs Kingstone DDR2, EVGA 8800 GT 512m Video, 500 SATA HD.

I just bought the game today and installed it. When I go to update it, stardock central says that I cannot because my key is invalid and wants me to buy another damn key. So unless this problem is fixed, I will return the game to the store and avoid buy another Stardock product from this point forward. I have the sales receipt if any one wants verification that I actually bought the game.

Gal Civ I and II are tbased more on the Civ franchise and in that regard rule the roast. Space Empires IV is not an RTS, it is a 4x (eXpand, eXploit, eXterminate, and eXplore) game that provides long and addictive, deeply rich games. SE IV and soon SE V, is the undisputed King of 4 x Gaming.

I have been playing Space Empires since 2000. I was one of the first people to buy Gal Civ. I played Gal Civ for about a year before loosing interest. I have not lost interest in Space Empires IV and that can say a lot about the game. Sure it is basic, but for a game, especially a garage style game made buy basically one guy, to do so well over so many years, says more about the over all qaulity of the game than any post by any person who has never

I play both Gal Civ and SE IV and feel that both games are differant enought to be enjoyable. SE IV beats the crap out of Pax, and GI II, and rates exceptionally well when compared to Stars. (From posts on the shrapnel forum that compare the games for which players of all have made their opinions known.) The thing that is most appealing about SE IV is the fact that you can mod the hell out of it. Take for instance the Star Trek, Adamant, Porportions, Space Food, TDM, and my more mods

Frogboy, Thanks for the heads up. We have been discussing this at the Shrapnel forum. I have sent an email to a friend who will hopefuly tell Aaron to read this thread. If they are cash strapped, then it is likely that they will rip Malfador off as they have done to you. This sucks because your game is the only other game that I play on a regular bases apart from Tribes and SE IV. :(

Chippoka, I has endured for on line sales. Shrapnel Games has stated that it has been one of their strongest selling titles for over four years. The thing that hurt SE IV is that it is a nitch game. By going retail the word will get out about the game, and hopefuly some of those MOO folks will learn of it. [Message Edited]

Um, SF has no say in the development of the game and it is important to note that SE IV was made by ONE guy working alone with no income. Additionally SE IV was a better game than M003 which had millions in development capitol and a huge staff working on it for years. So what if the interfaced for SE IV looked a little dated, what do you expect when its a one man show. The fact that the game has endured so well over the last five years proves that it was a solid title. SE V will have a new U

I was just wondering, and please forgive me, if there has been any work done on a mod for Star Trek. I know there was talk, but I have not been able to find any current information on it. Again my apologies if this is a rehassed item.

What we need is a way to keep our original game original while still being able to run mods. SEIV has a program that does that named the mod launcher. Basically a mod is a new file, and the mod launcher allows the player to start a non modded game or a modded game. The mod file uses its modded files first, and the files that are not present the mod uses the default game files for. Would GC benifit from this type of a system?

I wanted to add a few more choices for set up governments. How would I do this? What file are the set up governments in, and what file if differant are the bonuses for these government types in?
