yep the upgrade fixed the problem. I get 0 lag at any stage of the game. I only experienced a little bit of lag once when we had a 17000 supply of units fight in a 5v5 game but even then, the game was still playable, i still was able to command my ships and play effectively. this was on max graphic settings. regardless i think it would be wise to allow lower settings so people with slower cpu's can play a 5v5 game.

I have found a way to improve the lag. its still bad but it extend the time until lags becomes an issue by about 20 minutes in task manager -> details tab you can choose the game and move it from cpu prioriy "normal" to "real time" it makes a real difference. in the meanwhile, I got a new laptop with i9 14900hx and the game runs now with 0 lag at max settings even 1.5 hour into a 5v5 game, havent checked a longer game yet...
since I already posted the bug about tempest lag I would like to report another bug I noticed while playing with a Chinese friend. it was a 1v1 and my internet disconnected for a minute and the friend paused the game until I came back. when I came back my entire game language turned from English to Chinese, things like planet names unit names etc..
This ruins the game honestly so many people are suffering from the tempest lag. I know some people dont suffer at all and it seems to be connected to the cpu. but honestly this is the type of thing that can make people quite the game! as soon as someone spams about 80+ tempest and they are in a fight the game becomes unplayable! it becomes like 1fps literally everything is stuck trying to zoom in or out happens with delay and goes to the wrong planet. the game becomes just unplayabl
Hi Phoenix Thank you for replying. my gpu is pretty weak its a gtx 1050ti (mobile) but this is weird if its a gpu issue this happens only into the late game regardless if I am even watching a current fight or not. also my system has 32gb of ddr4 ram and its never close to max the gpu thought is almost maxing its GRam I saw it got to 3.8gb out of 4gb also usually rts games are more cpu then gpu intensive which is why I was suspecting cpu is the issue
Hellos is anyone else experiencing unplayable lag when one of the players on the map has a advent tempest spam? I have a 5-year-old laptop with a okish, cpu i7 9750h, its a 6 core/12 threads. seems it is running at between 20-60% while in game but the lag I experience is completely unplayable. I mean before the advent got introduced this problem didnt occur. and I know this is not the fastest cpu but its not that bad either, I talked to many other people and
