It may very well be the users fault however the games inability to highlight the offending users or even warn prior to game start really is a huge detriment to the game being enjoyable. I also wish there was a vote for a draw - Out of 6 games over the last day I have lost 5 won 1, 3 of those were concede on our side due to lag, one win was the other side and 2 genuine losses. Tals

Really great update. The premades argument is a difficult one, i'm hardly playing (read never) because my own friends - which you could term premades, are not playing. If they came along and as a result we still couldn't get a game in it's going to make gaming even less likely :(

Hopefully it is planned for final release, but as far as I can see there is no restriction for posting screenshots - certainly would help in bug reporting. Xfire's screenshot handling is easier than Jings in that all you do is scroll lock s in game and you have your screenshot hosted on the web, the video ability could also assist. If Devs were unconfortable with screenshots and video in game prior to release xfire can still support without these - Battleified Heroes did this so neith
1. It's not dying. There are charts on the number of games being played daily by the number of players and it's remained pretty steady. 2. Demigod isn't a "casual" game. However, it is not designed for the hard core either (IMO). It is designed so that gamers can sit down and play it without having to learn 50 different tricks to be competitive. Games like HoN and LoL are outstanding games that cater to the competitive crowd that I

I'm hoping the rematch or restart can also be used to allow players to return to the start of a game should there be an issue. i.e you start he game it's obviously laggy then restart option used and hopefully the next time minus the player who caused the issue :)

Also can I suggest that the demo is also made available on impulse for non DemiGod players - I can see it but I don't think non DG players can?

They need to post the announcement of the Demo in here or at least to provide links from a sticky in the forums. Not sure why no post has been made in here - this is where people will look when they first browse for a game that a friend has told them is called DemiGod Tals
Honestly I think that saying the forums are full of trolls and unproductive is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Just ignore who needs to be ignored and ban who needs to be banned and continue the dialogue.
I'd agree Stardock appear to be almost willing the community to be this way, certainly seems no different from any other publisher or developer forum. Great updates, really looking forward to them. Connection info, probably missed the boat :( But can it show percentage of player disconnects and also if it had any way at all of determining players upload ability to number of players in game that would probably kill lag once and for all Tals

DG demo will have MP - frog boy already stated this. The people I game with arn't on a lan basis they're on an internet basis so I wouldn't be giving my account details and they wouldn't be coming to my house :) I'd agree the demo should have been released months ago - but with a dwindling population it really needs one in it's stable regardless of other aspects they do. Frogboy intimated that its likely demo players won't be able to play with current players which is a shame as it wo

Use it as a marketting tool and arrange the chat through xfire, they host dev chats and advertise it through xfire. Their chats are as controlled as much as required Out of interest the way xfire does it is they have a devs chat room which is read only and a communal one. You post questions in the communal one and then the devs answer in their area. This allows control to stop the devs room getting out of hand

I totally disagree. You all maybe happy to illegally pirate a game and call it a demo but I and I suspect the majority of people are not. I have friends who want to try this game but are waiting on that demo to decide. Also when they are pirating the game they are not seeing the multiplayer functionality but rather the very poor ai so they really do not get a feel of how good the game is Tals
Regarding extra Demigods: I'd like to see modders being able to make more demigods. But if you expect GPG (or Stardock for that matter) to put guys on making them, $9 for 2 is likely your best case scenario. So if the feeling that they should be a couple bucks (or free) indefinitely is widespread then you just won't see those demigods.
Although the basic economics stack that way it actually do
This is true of every game - DG is not unique. Most games hire community managers who's whole job is to manage the communicty scene. It's analogous to a customer care center. People who are happy with a product never call a customer care center. All communication with the developers is through this person who can filter out all the vitriol. Stardock has many game communities. Sins of a Solar Empire and Gal
