Interesting Supreme Commander which uses the same engine also seemed to have this problem - I couldn't find a solution but others maybe more sucessful. This thread here seems a good starting point http://forums.gaspowered.com/viewtopic.php?t=295&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=

:( I tried that this morning, unfortunately it was already on that. It almost feels like the game doesn't use hardware acceleration or the EAX stuff at all. Hopefully we can keep this topic alive and get a solution - when I did a search this is not a new issue :( Tals

I've been having issues with Demigod performance. I had assumed it was my processor as its an AMD 3200+, 8800GT and 2 GB Ram. However after seeing a similar post I tried the following. Skirmish Map - Brothers. First with sound Game starts at Sim Speed of 4, then I go and cap the Portal to the right as I approach it moves down till hit hits 0 and stays there. Then without sound using the /nosound option Game starts at Sim Speed 4, I cap - s

I think I have found the cause. If you run demigod with /nosound running the brothers map. Game comes in Sim Speed 4. I then walk over to the right Portal and open that up. Game remains at Sim Speed 4 and is around 45fps. I then hit some peeps coming at me all at Sim Speed 4. I now do the same game but this time with sound. Again Sim Speed 4 but as soon as I start walking towards the Portal it moves down to Sim Speed 3 and 2. After taking it its then on Sim Speed 1 and around

I have an AMD 3200+, 8800GT and 2GB Ram. Not a great system but certainly shouldn't have problems. When I do the fly over its smooth. When the peeps come into view it starts chugging. I tend to find it plays witha sim speed of between -1 to 1. Graphics I play on medium 1280x1024. If I change to low it makes no difference. Which would point at processor. However their is nota lot happening to kill the game in this way. I also have a bit of a wayward processor. If it maxes a

PC Zone has just published their review of GC II - 60% ouch. Considering cancelling the sub on the basis of this rubbish review and they just seem to love FPS. For non UK PC Zone is one of the leading UK game magazines. Tals

I think GCII quite correctly should take a hit on no MP. That they beliebe it is a minority of players just continues to beggar belief. Take a pure MP game, WOW. Before WOW existed the belief was that the MOG genre had pretty much reached its zenith. WOW comes along and bingo you now have 5 million subscribers out of nowhere - their are enough MP players the game just has to fit what people want. GCII in an MP setting like Civ IV would be a very nice experience. The devs just need a

I didn't see anyone else mention this. However I get flakey mouse and I have only 1 monitor. I can play the game for about an hour and suddenly the mouse cursor will lock on a place but I'm still moving the mouse around (buttons will high light). Sometimes the cursor unlocks and I can continue, usually it's just locked and stays that way even if I alt tab out into Windows.

In the X patch i'm finding that my mouse stops working after an hour or so whilst playing the game - only solution I have found is to reboot the PC (via the keyboard). Not narrowed it down but it has happened in the last two games. Previous patches i've played all the way through with no issue. It could be that my mouse is on its way out or a USB issue (moved it now to a different USB port) but just a headsup if others are getting this? Tals

My experience was it was something todo with the space battles, if you let the game play through the battles and don't click anything whilst it is doing them you should be ok. I found I had to come totally out of game and then back in to get my turn button - did this for about 3 turns before I figured the issue with the battles and haven't looked back

This is precisely why I think most TBS games are better off being entirely single player. The time component necessitates that if multiplayer is part of the game, any features that increase the time involved in each turn have to be minimized. My biggest complaint about RTS games in general is that for the most part, they aren't really strategy games. Once you figure out th

> FrogBoy said: "Standard with other games". Those other gaems also cost $10 more. You're simply paying for the feature whether you want it or not. I never know where this comes from. I bought the game direct from Stardock - it cost me £26 (conversion rates). This is the most expensive PC game I have bought for years. Generally game

I found that from time to time I loose the ability to use the turn button, the solution is to exit out of game and then come in and load game whereby the turnbutton is back. I believe the problem is caused by the game showing various battles and movements occuring - if you move a unit during this time the movements stop and no turn button appears.

but but..... Brad said he could easily implement MP if the demand called for it - so I still would like to see focus on an MP expansion rather than various tweaks that may now be implemented. I forgot to say - amongst my group of about 6 game players that I play with i've not even mentioned this game - why bother its not MP so we're never going to play it together. If it had been MP i'd have been pushing them to get it. I suspect i'm not alone. Tals

I have yet to understand why designing a game for MP and SP should harm the SP game at all. The only reason I can think that this would occur is if the designer then took shortcuts with aspects of the AI knowing that ultimately a human person will always be a match in terms of quality versus a ai one. Sure you're always get the twits in MP - but lets just focus on the small select groups of friends and you can have a fantastic experience. I'd love to see MP built into GC II - to exper
