also, solar cells only push you foward if a star is behind you. it would only be functional when trying to leave a solar system.
General Skillet
a solar sail would, at the VERY most, travel at 1% the speed of light.. The FIRST propulsion system you start with in the game is hundreds of times faster than the speed of light.
yeah they never use the ships i give

may god have mercy on all our souls
hahaha, theres som friggin hilarious posts here i almost pissed myself, and some very intelligent posts. cheers to GC fans
well, mathmatically speaking, it IS derived using trig: where at a distance on one parsec, a length of 1 AU subtends and angle of 1 arcsecond (or 1/3600 of a degree) so its the distance where if you look at the earth and the sun, the lang between them is 1/3600 of a degree. thats pretty F'in far away!
less than 15 hours left!
theres an offiicial thread on this topic https://forums.galciv2.com/?ForumID=162&AID=100116
yeah i see it as something to be adressed in an upcoming patch, as it would really add alot to the game.
i hope someone makes a Star Trek mod, replacing all the GC races with trekkie ones that would be sweet
I hear you, I have 3 big exams this week. just hold the game box in your lap and carress it gently while studying.
you know you've got a good game coming out, when a ton of the people on the forums are non-american . not meant to be an insult, its just americans seem to like the shallower, "187 Ride or Die" type games.
ONE DAY LEFT. in 24 hours i'll be playing GC2, at which point, i can die in peace. But, with my luck, I'll probably catch the plague and die around noon tomorrow
I think random events are my favorite thing about the GC series. in RL, you don't have full control over the universe, only how you respond to a gamut of variables and changes.
i have a physics exam Wednesday, ARG! oh well, the galaxy calls (for me to conquer it). i'll study WHILE playing the game!
lol, it sort of gives your people a sense of relief knowing that if an invading Drengin fleet is currently right next to Earth, its still several trillion miles away
