No, this is not damaging your boot sector. In order to track down the problem we'll need a minidump of the blue screen. Minidumps are created in the windows\minidump directory each time the system blue screens(as long as they are configured to do so). To make sure you're creating minidumps, bring up the system control panel, advanced tab, and set the first combobox inside of "Write debugging information to "Small memory dump (64 KB)". Then when this file is generated, e-mail it to ian@stardo

When I was little I took everything apart too - I didn't really grow out of it until around 10 years old. I at least learned a lot, at the cost of every electronic toy in the house! If you can find some of those illustrated how things work books(there used to be a great Disney set), he'd probably really like them. I don't think the curiosity goes away very quickly though, sorry :)

A few months ago while driving down Ford I noticed a sushi restaurant was being setup in the small plaza on North-West corner of Ford & Lilley - O'Sushi. It had an 'opening soon banner' for quite a long time. A few weeks ago they opened, and tonight, I decided to try them out. I developed BootSkin to change the boot screen. Nothing more, nothing less. Not to be shown in the Louvre. I think anyone creative enough to design their own 4 bit boot screen(e.g. not just converting down a wallpaper) should be accepted. Progress bars are nice, but not required. VESA version coming soon, as soon as I'm off of DesktopX again I'll be coding the progress bar support, making sure all of the compatibility tests work, and releasing a private build. -Ian

LOS ANGELES, California (Reuters) -- Los Angeles officials have asked that manufacturers, suppliers and contractors stop using the terms "master" and "slave" on computer equipment, saying such terms are unacceptable and offensive. Aggregation of The Cool in Blogging JoeUser Forums

Yesterday I found out about a site called PopDex . Basically they crawl blogs, and sort out what everyone is linking to, giving each link a score from 0 to 100 based on the amount of people linking, then aggregate it into a list, which has it's own RSS feed. The highest scoring links make it to the top of the list. Because of this, you can hit this site and find out what "everyone's talking about". Pretty neat!

holy crap, juandl11, what are you on? If it doesn't allow your computer to boot, boot into safe mode and uninstall it. It doesn't run in safe mode. We write our software so that there is a way to disable an enhancement if there are problems, because we are sane people that realize that things like bugs are always a possibility in alpha builds. If you had read the documentation, you would know this. If you are not interested in the documentation, please refrain from using alpha builds.
