Never mind - I found it. It is already set on US-1. I still get the error though. I might also add that it doesn't look like it's downloading anything, when I click "update" it counts down from 3 and then gives the error. Other ideas? Thanks, JC

I turned off "show pre-release versions" and tried again. Same error. I'm not sure how to specify the US-1 server though. Where do I do that? Thanks, JC
Hi, When I try to update my GC2 using Stardock, it fails on the HeightMaps update and says "Module Request Failed: The module you have requested is no longer available." The version number remains 1.59[b].008. Advice? Thanks, JC
Hi, just bought GCII, installed, it runs fine but there is no sound. Options selected for sound on and max volume. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance, JC
Hi, I just purchased the GalCiv 2 game and installed it. Had to tweak video, but then it was running fine, except there is no sound at all. Options menu shows sound should be on. Suggestions? Thanks.
Ok, I can beat this thing on beginner but as soon as I move the difficulty up to normal I get my clock cleaned. The AI is building unique galactic trade goods before I have my third planet colonized. I suspect part of the problem is that I can't find more than basic documentation. For example, in spite of my best efforts, I cannot find an explanation for the "auto-survey" function of survey ships. How do I determine when/if to use this feature? How does the AI build things so quickly?
Thanks all, I will try these other strategies. I guess brute force isn't always the answer (darn it!)... JC ~SDC~
How in heaven's name are you supposed to kill these things? Two of them destroyed over a dozen battleaxes and defenders, not to mention all my trade ships and three space stations. I never put a dent in them! Ar! ~SDC~
