It looks like you solved your own question? The mods were disabled, and then the game launched. It was more than likely a mod causing issue.

Anyone else? Saved game from yesterday was fine, then this patch hit. Crashing like crazy. New game too. And it looks like i'm not alone:

Playing as the Advent Wrath and mind controlling inbound enemies with the Temple of Assimilation planetary structure, if an Advent starbase is present the units that are mind controlled retain the -300% phase jump debuff until they phase jump out of the system. Minor but annoying if you are trying to get the units to your main fleet.
