I'm on my 8th day in the trial. Rather fun. Hoping to get a cruiser before the end of the trial.

Well, the Japanese have quite a few game save sites for all their hentai games so you can unlock all the scenes and pictures immediately.
Just attempted to buy Astral Masters with 2 tokens. It gave me an error. Just to be sure, I exited Stardock and opened it again, showed I'm now at 8 tokens, but it still gives me a demo link.
What I'd like to see is for higher level players be able to act as quest givers. And you need to give incentives for doing so. Which means something like: Higher level quests still require a bunch of drops that come from lower level monsters. Higher level players aren't going to want to spend a lot of time farming low level monsters with no exp, so have a system where you can reward lower level players with gold/items/exp for getting these things for you. This h
It won't stop farmers (or players), they'll just make more accounts, and rotate them when time's up.
I agree. These "just added" articles are pretty much no longer relevant. Unless it's really just to drum up some advertising.
Loyalty already pays If you preordered, you get in on the beta If you were on TGN, you get the game for free + 10 tokens to use
I thought Gas Powered Games was from Cavedog.
Extensions graveyard! As well as my saved passwords. Couldn't get those to transfer over properly.
GC2 will eventually feature multiplayer in the form of an expansion AFAIK Their reasoning is, not everyone wants multiplayer. Multiplayer takes a lot of time to make. So let those who want it pay for it.
Heh, first people who worked on Diablo/Starcraft/Warcraft1+2 left to form Arenanet, now people are leaving to form Red5 Studios.
I find it hard to believe that $60 million a month (4 million x $15, give or take 10% + another $200 million at least in box sales) in subscriber fees is not enough for them to just give free expansions. Servers couldn't possibly cost THAT much to maintain. (correct me if I'm wrong if you have hard stats)
Nvidia 6+, just for the 3.0 pixel shaders. Look at all the ATI people complaining about AOE3.
Shouldn't Blizzard's "paying customers" be based on the number of active subscribers rather than # of boxes sold?
Well, that's sort of what I meant. In that each new game represents a new age...
I played WoW. I stopped playing 2 weeks before my first paid month ran out. But I also played a heckuva lot while I was playing. Is that addiction?
Wow, an undocumented feature! Your race evolves, gains more experience, and improves planet infrastructure as time goes on!
Good info! Went ahead and signed up.
That was a point that I already agreed was a downside when Jafo pointed it out. But I do have a question. Does the abolishment of copyright necessarily abolish the concept of prior art with it? Copyright, as its name implies, is the right to make copies of a work, but does not say who first made it (case in point: music labels hold the copyrights for a lot of artists' works, but they aren't the ones who made it). It would still be possible to register X work in some global database
You know, you really should stop flip-flopping your positions. You can't have it both ways. When I say publishing companies will die because things will be free, you say no, they'll still exist and steal my works to sell without giving me any money anyway. So I say fine, perhaps you're right, in which case you can go to these publishing companies to work, and you flip right around and use my original argument to say no, they'll die because everything's free anyway. <img src="http://aces.tabu
Well duh, each of us is both a consumer and producer. However , we are not both a consumer and producer to the same product (we wouldn't need to trade with others if we were making everything we needed ourselves). The dichotomy does exist. It exists in every trade, by its very definition. But that's still not the point, despite all the glossy rhetoric you try to put behind it. The people you call "Robin Hood wannabes" are being consistent when they try to level it
"You claim you're the one following history, facts, etc. and that I'm not. I've claimed the same about you." See, you're doing it exactly again as I said before. With more ad hominems. I've said from the start this is a zero sum game. On one side is consumers, on the other side is producers. You can't help one group without harming the other. What we're disagreeing is the side that should be helped. Since you see yourself as primarily on the producer side (or
I champion consumers? And the rest of what you've stated is really just another rehash which is exactly why we need to agree to disagree. You claim you're the one following history, facts, etc. and that I'm not. I've claimed the same about you. Things you feel are horrible I don't see as horrible, and vice versa. When a debate starts disintegrating into a shouting match, it's time to move on.
Agree to disagree. You keep insisting that it'll be bad for us, I insist that's not how it's going to turn out. We can speculate all we want, but until it happens, none of us can know for sure. Theoretical debates on the justification of copyright has a downside...people assume ther is a real option...to NOT have copy protection. There is no such op
