I have enough gameplay under my belt to have grasped all the basic principles. And I have gotten some games to the 300+ turn mark (on easy), with 4-5 towns all doing well. But they all end the same: which ever other faction is the bully boy declares war on me and easily wipes me out. He sends a single army that exceeds the entire protective army I have spread thinly across all my cities. (I can't support a larger army, and if I try to keep them all together, they are never in the right place
Add me to this list of longtime, loyal customers who is very unhappy about this. I don't have the "one token" problem. I have 5 tokens and I want to pre-order Demigod. If this transition is happening, I'd like to use up my tokens and be done with it. I guess that's what bothers me most: if Stardock is going to shove this down our throats, they could at least offer a very user-friendly transition plan. For example, everyone who has at least one token gets grandfathered under this deal: you get a
I'm well into a new game, using the latest version. I've built plenty of tactical & logistic things. Suddenly, although I have sufficient resources and enough slots, when I go to build anything, the cursor changes and it won't build. The cursor turns gold and three little rectangles appear underneath it. There don't seem to be any clues on screen what the problem is. Any insights? TIA...
Where does this game store its saved games? TIA...
Some excellent suggestions. Thank you. I'm glad I'm not alone in thinking the diplomacy aspect of this game sucks. GV2 is vastly superior in that regard.
NOOB strategy question... I've had the game log enough to master the basics. I've restarted at least a dozen times, mainly playing the Advent in a single player, medium size random map. I understand at least the basic nuances of how to leverage the Advent -- I'm spreading culture as fast as I can, while maintaining a decent economy, a military that's ranked #2, and the most aggressive research I can. I've also been lucky to get a few maps that let me grow to 5-6 planets
Excellent feedback. I've been lurking for a few days, and if the dialog on this forum is any indication of the game quality, I'm sure I won't regret picking up a copy. I will try the demo! Cheers...
There's obviously alot to love about Sins. But I've never been very good at real time games -- I'm more of a melee round, pause and think about the next move kind of gamer. (ala GalCiv) I've played a few real time games that have paced things slowly and steadily enough that I could keep up just fine. Any thoughts on whether Sins would be up my alley? TIA...
Of course, maybe I'm just an idiot. But feedback is welcome. The more I learn to optimize income, research, production, etc. the more I seem to earn the wrath of my AI opponents. They learn to hate me very quickly and whichever one is the most powerful declares war on me. In some ways, that's what I love about this game. It's a progressive resistance machine. After all, how cool is that -- the better I get, the more of a threat I present, the more the AI seems to go after me q
In what seemed like a good idea, I turned my home planet into my economic capital, created all freighters from there and maxed out trade. (I play a custom race specializing in trade.) I researched all remaining trade-related bonuses and built all suitable trade goods, galactic achievements, etc. I then built 4 economic starbases in the same sector, enhanced them with every appropriate upgrade, and waited for the cash to roll in. It didn't happen. The summary and details pages show NOTHING for my
