After playing for some time, I have reached a situation where my army will not respond to any orders. There appears to be no provision to send you a save game file.

Are you sure it is not STEAM that is bring back the autosaves? There is a STEAM option to turn this off.

"Enduring" is a faction attribute, not a character attribue. All the default starting characters should match the attributes of possible user created characters. At present most are STRICTLY worse than a similar user character.

Default Sovereigns do not have a profession in FE Support Elemental Forums

This makes them strictly worse than user created rulers.
