GC2:DA, and a bit of the beta. Eagerly awaiting the release. Turn based strategy goodness. Nethack! I'm always playing nethack, off and on. Since the 80's if you count its predecessor rogue. Best game ever. Turn based rpg goodness. Wanted to play the HOMMV expansions, but have a weird prob on vista where it forces me to the lowest graphics setting and I can't abide that when I know how much better the game could look (vanilla HOMMV works fine though, perhaps because I have

Was describing the game to some friends who like TBS games and looked for some vids to email them links to. Found none on Stage6.com (which allows very high quality uploads, would be ideal for any game wanting to show off video quality). Found some ancient ones on youtube (incredibly low quality, was cool to hear brad talkin' about his own game though). Don't see any obvious links on this web site. Gamespot had some that weren't as bad as youtube, but still pretty low quality. Any
I don't like production oriented RTS's. The game becomes more about production than than tactics. That's fine for a TBS, but in an rts game, I want the real and important action to be where the units are, in the fighting, not back at the buildings. I want the important decisions that will decide the outcome of the game to be on the front lines, where the armies meet. I want tactics to matter more than strategy. That's why I liked the Myth series so much. RTS, but you don't build yo
When I pick red, it doesn't stop the drengin from also bein' red, which makes it confusing on the mini-map. Would be nice to still have the drengin in the game, but have them change their color to some random off-color if the human player happens to pick red. Same goes of course when the human player picks the same color as any of the other races as well. --- When I start a turn a ton of ships/fleets that are on auto-pilot just sit there and won't continue along their pat
in the ships list, make all the ones in orbit have a different background color or some such so one can tell at a glance which ones are in orbit or not w/out having to re-order the list. --- I second the 'no tech trading' game option (like CivIV has). Or perhaps an xml option somewhere to flag each tech as tradeable or not (so you could even set it up such that early techs are fully tradeable, but later ones are not, or even just set it up so that certai
1. One solution would be to play pre-made scenarios w/balanced starting positions, w/all the habitable planets already inhabited (w/out buildings). No land grab, everyone starts equal w/the same number of same class planets. The game seems to come w/scenarios, perhaps there is a way we can make more of our own. 2. someone suggested an accelerated start option - the game already has one. => Look for the pull down menu after you hit 'new game'. 3. as far as m
1. After a while of playing, all saved games show up twice in the list. If I name a save game 'Battle1' for instance, now there will be 2 'Battle1' save games. Only one will load. Of the pair, one has only a time stamp, while the other has the rest of the info, like the campaign map name, etc.. Reloading doesn't make it go away. And when it happens, it happens to *all* saved games. Deleting one of the pair, deletes both, but only if the correct one is selected - if the incorrect one is s
