A few minor points - generally I am most content with this game so far. Well done people and thanks. 1) In some places an annoying relationship with the idea of "NEXT" and "ZERO". If I tell my kids its Christmas next month, and when next month rolls around I tell them only another zero months to go so they've got to wait for another four weeks I would expect a little trouble. Similarly when the game tells me there is one turn to go for something to happen, it is silly for it t

Playing a 5x5 galaxy with habitable planet probability set to common: in one game my 3x3 "home space" had nothing in it except a class 14 Betelgeuse II - I had to play almost an entire game (8 hours) with just the two planets in my home system. I couldn't explore and expand my borders quickly enough to get any other systems. An AI immediately below me had 5 (five!) systems in his "home space" Maybe not a bug but fine tuning possibly? PS: It was quite an inters

My only crash to desktop in about 10 games in tiny/small/medium galaxies happened yesterday. Don't know if it is a general problem or specific to the game I was playing which had been going for about 8 hours non stop. Drengin were defeated - their last star system rebelled and joined an AI player. In the same turn I went into the foreign relations screen where the drengin were still listed. Thought I would look at a few spy reports to see how the drengin were doing just prior to their d

This is seriously broken. (Statement. Unapologetic. Uncompromising.) When I save a game I expect to preserve an exact snapshot of my game position. When I restore that save game I expect to return exactly back to where I was when I saved. Currently after only three games I know: Influence not restored properly I suspect: Effect of wonders like eye of galaxy not restored properly AI difficulty level not restored properly (they seemed to get meaner(?) )

The first two games I played were entered into the Metaverse list. The last three haven't been. Its a little annoying as I should easily be in the top hundred by now. When I press submit to enter a score at the end of game the screen goes back to the intro menu immediately. No error reported. No confirmation that score has been updated. No delay. No obvious attempt to do anything. I may as well have pressed an exit button. One of my main problems is trying to work out how all the names in the f

Been thinking about this: 1) It's not broken - it's just not like other similar games I've played. Keeping a construction queue empty is now not a way to preserve scant resources. Galciv wants those queues full and producing the whole time. With this knowledge the question becomes how can you turn what you build into cash. 2) Think real life. If a government department allocates x million for road building and that money is not spent then next years (next turns) grant would be

Also ... If your sliders are OK but due to cash problems you are only actually allocating 2 or 3 BC of credits to say, social build queues BUT you have *many* planets only 2 or 3 planets build queues get any resources - the rest say no resources. 1BC seems to be the minimum a build queue on a planet can get, Fooled me for a while this did - until the recession passed. ~SDC~

I hadn't realised resources were wasted till I read this thread - thats a bit naughty!. What about giving the gov'ners a few choice boxes for some of the sensible options presented in this thread which are not unbalancing. Why be limited to one option? I agree that micromanagement should be minimized in the context of this particular game - its not MOO2.5 after all :-) ~SDC~

My position was dominant in most respects. One of the three stars in my home sector suddenly got taken over by some ancient evil force (whats that about?). Ships from this star system's two planets (Which used to be mine) then creamed me across the tiny galaxy I was playing in. They also wiped out anything that got in their way. At the same time all the galaxy's sectors were going over to an independent minor race. At about the time the last sector changed sides and the whole galaxy map was yell
