Ok, just really started with this game and i'm getting hammered by Enemy destabiliser modules which from what i gather is an artifact but the game gives me now way to deal with it, counter it or even know who is doing it to me. There's very little information online about it and i'd like to know what the thinking is?

Hi, since the latest update my heroes and villains of star control DLC factions are not working and they were a couple of months ago. My debug shows them as active but they are not showing up. Please note I have not bought retribution. Reinstalled all DLC + Game + game integrity, the lot.
Non campaign was what I was trying. Weirdly the campaign would start but I've had refunds now, I'll try again in the future.

I'll try that, the game does work with the pre-origins/intrigue races though so we will see.

Step 2 - Ok looking at another thread, i renamed Crusade to crusade.old and there is no difference

I think I’ve found out what the issue is. Avast is interfering with it and blocking files. I reinstalled the game with avast switched off and it was working fine until avast blocked something again.

Everything is up to date and nothing has changed, the reason I mention 8 months ago is because it was new. Also what I f I told you it was broken on the other machine too that also used to run like a dream? Edited to add, I’m going to reinstall with antivirus off because I think it might be blocking some stuff
One race from the workshop and otherwise I play immense with 18 races, the rest of the game vanilla. I’m not sure on the processor but it’s i7 7820 hk I think. It was new in January with 16gb ram, gtx 1060 and a fully solid state drive. That means it’s software.
The best thing you can do is stop it crashing on saving a game or when autosave comes on or make it so the game loads in less than 2 minutes like it used to.

It's not hardware. The game was fantastic on the same machine only eight months ago and said machine is very capable. It's programming that has let it down.

I just came back to the game recently for one last run and it doesn't work. Most of the time it crashes when you save or won't even load a game. I'm gonna reinstall but i think if things don't improve then i am definately finished which is a shame because at 822 hours it's the most ive ever played a game through steam. Ok edited to add, it's still just as bad. Takes 2 mins to load and then it got stuck on autosave and this is only at turn 50 or so. Thanks for all your efforts and whil

As it says, I have enemy planets in range that are defended but the window when you click on the planet is empty. Is this deliverate?
I'm playing a game at the moment where i have 0.1 income a turn and a stockpile of 2, someone else has 1 and yet the Slyne have a stockpile of 52. No one else has got any and while i think its ok to have some rare stuff but to base a whole weapon tree on it seems crazy. It's not like you can either charter missions for it or collect it from nebula's now.

As mentioned in the title. I stopped playing because i couldn't prevent myself losing techs every 5 turns despite all attempts and various tweaks with espionage and i was hoping one day that it could simply be disabled. I hadn't noticed any options to turn it off when i went to start a new game earlier and i wondered if this had been sorted out or as players are we simply still helpless?
I'm not playing anymore till tech stealing can be turned off, it is far too easy for techs to be stolen (especially the ones the so would take too long to get on their own)
The developers have been rather poor at explaining any of the changes beyond frogboy bragging about his monitor playing ludicrous.
Yeah 105% security doesn't stop them stealing tech, it's ridiculous.
