I double checked and the issue was that I had accidently unchecked the setting to disable Windows 8 hot corners. I use a Start8 button skin that is exactly the same as the default Windows 8 start menu, so I couldn't tell the Start hot corner was activating over it!

Start8 stopped working yesterday. When you click the start button, it opens the normal menu. I tried rebooting several times. Today I uninstalled/reinstalled and it still won't work. Not sure if a Windows update broke it or not, but it def. not working anymore.

Can't you right-click on the application and select "Remove from this list"?
