I just reverted and its still happening. what do I do?
Basically, the start menu will be fine, and then suddenly, after a random amount of time, I am missing icons. Not all of them. this has only happened within the last couple of weeks. Windows 11 pro 24H2 26100.4770 start 11 v2 2.53 if i restart explorer, it goes back to normal.

not all the time, but sometimes it takes a while for start11 v2 to instantiate the menu. Are there any settings I can tweak? Using the latest beta (2.05)

yeah, taskbar frozen here too without enhanced taskbar enabled. Release unusable. trying 2.0.0.4
Hello, longtime Start8-11 user, testing out windowblinds 11. I use a program called REAPER and it's fairly skinnable, but on windows there are elements which cannot be so easily skinned, and they stick out like sore thumbs. I found one way to make a theme for windows that is darker, but it's strange, over time it reverts. Finding a way to make things nice and dark is what I need. My questions: 1. This is MY FAULT but a note of warning: - I did a purge all of start11, but I DID reboot in the middle. This started a chain events which ended up in: - explorer continually restarting - all of my files (but not folders) in my download folder being deleted - had to sys restore back before it, and there are still weird issues so... moral of the story FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS AND DONT MESS UP

I apologize, it didn't do it. Is there a way to undelete the settings? Maybe a folder I can search for in an undelete? I am going to do your purge and dump.

a reinstall fixed it, I removed all settings to be sure, but ofc it wiped out my previously pinned tiles :(

I am using a beta version of windows and Start 11 1.24 - I am fairly certain this has been happening for a while, but has anyone experienced the entire taskbar going unresponsive during explorer file transfers?

So basically, if you have explorer patcher installed AND update, it breaks start 11.. Better?

Right, but if the two are installed... Thats all I'm saying now, might be good to edit the title. :) Also, whether it's inappropriate or not isn't really relevant, the mods can make that determination. :)

ahh that makes sense!!! I think still, the title should then say Start11 breaks if you update AND have explorer patcher installed

ahh so it seems start11 and explorer patcher are conflicting? Either way the update AND the conflict then break start11 and it's helpful for people to see this, imo

I understand that but start11 WILL stop working if you install the update and you have to alter it in order for it to do otherwise. The instructions are in this thread, but it WILL break start11.
