I made a custom race and took "unpopular -2" it is supposed to give -1% Tourism income. My best guess I don't know for sure.

I researched "interstellar tourism" and built a Port of Call still no tourism. Are you all getting tourism credits in 4.0?
Thank you for the well written response. I will play around some more. In the past population grew on all colonies at 0.1. You are describing getting 1 planet up to that level by turn 31. I've been playing small maps but I have yet to have the need to build cities. The "city" building is a very early tech too. Seems strange to give us a building that has no use so early on. I read one of Brad's posts about the update and he mentioned they lowered aste
I've just updated to 4.0 my growth rate is 0.01 meaning it takes 100 turns to get 1 population. I haven't played for awhile but this seems so off to me. Growth for me has come from Ideology spending and random events. Natural growth is basically useless it seems. I get the feeling that someone messed up the decimal and they meant 0.1 so 1 pop every 10 turns. As is you will never need to build cities I can't get the pop high enough.
Thanks for the kind replies. You seem to know more about things then I. I am still not seeing where the production is "ramping up really fast". Work camp is giving me +5% construction, +1 morale, and +1 pop cap. 5% is nothing. Instead of morale, is it meant to be production? Why are slavers the happiest people in the universe? At least they do have a form of research that I didn't see before. It takes like 20 tu
Woh, and I just figured out that the Yor can build their science core on ALL worlds. Which is probably the way it should be for all the races. Yor can build core on all planets. Terrans can build the core once. And Drengin and Snathi don't even have it. (why even bother with a science tree with these guys?! Only fun strategy is to do an "anvil rush" on a small map. Synths do it better tho!) If you want scie
I don't think you guys get it. It's as if we are playing a different game. Those slave camps just give % boost. You can fill your entire capital with them and get minimal benefit. It's almost nothing. Space elevators and cores give +1 adjacency bonus. The production and science available to the Snathi and Drengin are soooo much lower it's unplayable. No space elevator. No computer core. No starport. Those are all the +1 ad
Is this a glitch? I have the beta 2.14 installed. How do you get production and science without these two buildings? Aren't these races extremely crippled without them?
Just checking to see if anyone uses the WASD to look around. For me, I think the mouse is so much nicer and easier to control. I think WASD should be changed to building hotkeys. So the question is... does anyone use WASD as is?
Not sure about that one. Don't you use left click to select the building?
Opps, I meant right click to turn off. Honestly though, I just need an easier way to turn off buildings. Keyboard shortcut would be just as well and would leave the mouse controls simple. You made really good points on all my other suggestions btw. Thanks for reading.
Strongest start is the 3 iron in a triangle just south of where you first start. Settle up next to that. I think opening up with 3 mines there might be the strongest. Perhaps 1 mine and 2 steel wins though. Be very conservative with cash. Extra claims and glass for upgrading base is all I would spend it on.
Things I think would improve UI in no particular order: The order of the factions should be by stock price. Leader on top. "delete" should scrap selected building. Left click should turn off buildings. Pressing "M" for build mine should pop up the the same window that opens when you "mouse over" the mine. (Need to be able to see how much money will be spent). Pop up should be lower left. The total cost for base upgrade s
Control-Shift-Down arrow dumps all. WASD moves camera. Backspace cycles faction colonies Most of the other ones are cheats / debug: Control-W is auto-win. Number 1,2,3 etc switches you to another faction "[" "]" Raise / lower your income by 10 k "
There IS interest applied as 10% at the end of each day. It doesn't affect the auction but too much debt will make it hard to upgrade to level 5.
