and despite the article Carl posted, El Capitan can be skinned. it's just no longer a simple point and click affair. an example: http://allannyholm.deviantart.com/art/REST-Theme-602763156
it's not so easy to compare, as a OS X does not follow the same "there's an application and outside the application are borders"-doctrine as Windows. the title bar is pretty much part of the application itself and makes use of transparency and blur (not as tacky as Windows 7 though) and also client-side decorations. bottom, left, right borders aren't there. <img src="https://0ec7472b83a4935261a20437b64f95711022f5af.googledrive.com/host/0BzCZjSgA75hMaVdGNC1JYV
it's Hold Security again. so no surprise here. it's a pity that the " Russian gang steals 1.2 billion user names and passwords " thread from 2014 by DrJBHL has been deleted.
the prices of course look ridiculous in 2016 if you compare them to prices of other software, particularly on mobile platforms. people need to keep in mind that the market for payskins is not small but tiny. the revenue is far too small to implement a micropayment solution. if Windowblinds would be popular then some kind of "in-game-currency" as deviantArt points could be considered. it is not though, and it is not going to grow. from a business perspective it would be a waste

sure. it's your life after all, so keep doing what you do if this is your path to happiness. seems to work great for you. ;)
if you are that broke, you should really think twice about spending even a single penny for desktop customization. that's irresponsible.

this is really good. i particularly like the min/max/close button. creative and also well thought. also corresponds nicely with the start button. the scrollbars are weak compared with the rest of the skin. that biohazard symbol looks out of place. it's also bad interface design to use the same symbol for for up/down. task buttons suffer from borderitis. looks a little crowded and makes it harder to find the desired task than necessary. i hope you enjoy using colors
