Exactly this. I would love to be able to manage my fleets with smaller sub groups and roles. I get that you want to manage complexity for more casual players so there is a balance to be struck. However this would be awesome and really make for a feeling of pre-planning your combat style and then being an admiral directing a larger battle strategically as opposed to micromanaging every ship on the fly only to have a bunch of other ships run off and do something complete
