Towers are there to defend but they should fall against the focus of DGs. You are there to push the other DGs back so your towers remain where they are. You can even fight under the cover of your tower if you need to defend the tower. This way the tower helps in pushing other DGs back because they should run when you have the upper hand like this. 'DGs are there to fight' is such a meak statement because it could mean anything. DGs could very well fight to defend your towers. He could

IN the pantheon you do not get to choose, so whatever is the default I's say that is how the game is supposed to be played. That means normal towers are. And DGs taking out towers are not the problem in any game. If you do not defend your towers or take the other team's towers out fast enough you deserve to be pushed back. Improper defending or attacking will not mask your poor playing. I do not see any real advantage to setting the towers to high in that case. I am with <a id="ctl00_

I said this so often before that I find it not even funny any more, but I want to say it again regardless. UB gets no special tricks and skills that help him slay enemy DGs. All that UB has is raw power. He can hardly trick any one like some other classes can. He has no fancy skills that can completely knock other DGs off. In a game where tracking devices + minefields + snipe can completely destroy a DG in seconds and where TB can shatter your cooldowns, I'd say that spit is the least
I've been in games where the enemy has been smashing us back to the citadel. But we've still won just because we just ignored them and the creeps and the towers and capped their portals and chain locked them. It just seems to easy late game to run through and chain lock them. It seems if you get late game and ninja a portal and lock it, it is game over. They just end up running between the portals locking. I think the towers should get

To every one cllaiming this DG wil be overpowered, have we even seem a graph that shows the armor, health, basic speed and mana of this new demigod? I can imiagine this being a melee DG that has a few tricks without the raw power that UB has. As a UB player I know that some DG have tons of tricks up their sleeves, while the UB needs to get toe-to-toe and open a can of whoopass. This new DG has more tricks, so HP, mana and armor should be lower.Make them low enough and this DG is not o

If you are playing poor enough that your flag actually gets captured the game is virtually over anyway. It should be hell to get them back. From what little experience I have the game is usually over by the time one's portals get captured. If it happens, the flag locks were not your major problem in the game.

Monk, your opinion is as appreciaed as anyone else's. You are indeed very welcome because because you have not played a game like this, you can tell if the game works intuitively or not, and maybe if the explanations in-game are clear or not. Since most of us have in fact played games like these, we do not have the luxury of being good judges on these points. In the end not even beta-experience is needed. I am a tester for a well-known major release and while I do not have knowledge o
Why should I not be allowed to pick up a box in Holland and still pre-order? International retail is handled through third party publishers (which tends to not be finalized until very late in development), and we don't do preorder shelf boxes as you'd find in game stores in any case.
Hmmm... So if I ordered a boxed version, what kind of box would you send then? I understand that I could download that game a

I am not sure if the AI can even have an agenda apar from meeting a victory condition. Let us suppose that that is the case, that is the AI can have an agenda in the sense that it wants to conquer another one's capitol city. Now suppose the AI will not reveal any info that will not further his agenda... What info would it release to you? Keep in mind that not releasing any info can also be a telltale sign that the AI is up to something. Ideally you will want the AI to act as if it is
Shurdus: if you buy the game, automatically you have the downloable version for good too. You could destroy the disc (heretic!) and you would still be able to install it as long as have internet access to download the game from Impulse. Also, you can actually burn your own copy to a disc from your download. I haven't done it so I don't remember the details but it's possible. Not saying you shouldn't want a boxed version, just that the download

If the lore will be added to the game inthe way Jalicos describes then I will be thrilled. Even if that is the case I still would not want to see a system where you can tell what the Tower of Time will contain just because you saw it before. I do not even want a system where you know this tower will contain one out of three options. What I would very much like to see is a system where lore may be added to landmarks, but there may be none. The lore attached to some place may of course

Oh, and adding to my argument, the very last thing I want to se is something similar to the GalCiv2 tech tree. That one was huge, very difficult to navigate through and boring. Having to tech your way through tons of techs that essentially do the exact same thing was extremely boring in my book. If there are different techs for making weapons sharper and such, let us hope we do not have to plow through tons of techs just to get to some real advancement.

What I find disappointing about the techs presented in the july faq is that apparently every single race - or whatever word is more applicable in EWOM - can use every single mount as long as the right tech is researched. Imo it would be way more fun to have each race linked to different mounts - maybe in the form of a bonus like 'race A gets a +1 combat bonus if riding wolves'. What I do like about the teching is that it potentially opens up different options to winning this game
The religion mechanic in Civ4 is really lame. If they can't come up with a better mechanic than having silly expanding borders that wrap around a city and then take centuries to flip it, don't bother with religion. Your religious block could really become a powerhouse if you could succesfully exclude members and pull in the right leaders.

Scoutdog should be renamed lapdog! :P While I can see a need for consistency in magic I do not think magic should be taken apart like a car and then analysed until there is a logically closed system in place. In the end it would be very acceptable to describe magic as 'whatever power can generate essence or mana and whatever spell or ability costs essence or mana to use.' Therefore ghosts or phantom warriors and elementals and whatever gantasy creatures you can come up with need not b

All this talk about MoM made me curious about that game since I never heard of it before reading this forum. So I got my hands on a copy and played a game yesterday. What an experience, now I am twice as exited about EWOM. :D

In the skirmish and pantheon you will still face doubles, and he custom games are far too coocked up to enjoy imo. In the end you can always ask others to switch DGs if there are doubles. This is something not possible in the skirmish and pantheon. It is therefore already very doable avoid doubles. Even when doubles exsist they are not that much of a pain as there are non-double combo's that are just as powerful as doubles.

I was also in the 'hard is too hard' camp a while back. What I suggest is that you play online a lot and sharpen your teeth there. Before you know it you have learned so much tricks and such tha you will have an easy time slaying the enemy once you go back to single player. You should keep in mind that you really need to check the AI yourself because your teammates just die a lot. Once the AI becomes too powerful the game is over. With a little practise you should learn what your buil
