That kind of auto-attack sounds like a good way to get killed in DG.
Sure if you're an idiot and you just send your guy off to the lane while you go make some lunch and watch TV. What a dumb statement that was, have you ever even played a computer game before? Having to click every mob just to attack it is silly and diverts your attention away from the minimap even for a second and you can easily miss something.

Sigh, you guys obviously have no clue what an auto attack is. Auto attack is your hero automatically moving to engage enemies that come within their threat range, not 'I right click, he attacks'. This threat range however is limited only to the character's attack range in Demigod...thats not a threat range, a threat range would be say for example unclean beast is melee but will move to engage a unit thats within 100 metres and automatically attack it. This threat range is programmed into
Actually I'm going to have to agree, having to press tab to look at the war score is inconvenient, as it is a big part of the games play value. Why do I need to see the life value of the team citadels more than I need to see the war score? Sometimes I'm waiting for that next rank to upgrade something, but its a bit off and I have forgotten about it and missed the upgrade getting it a bit later. If it was right on the HUD the chances I will forget about it are a lot less likely. Having
Maybe if they ever release an expansion it could come with a mini rpg campaign with the original 8 or something, that would be neat. I think a lot of people were disappointed with the lack of single player (not totally realizing how much of a MP game it was, or not knowing at all).
Whine about it all you want, but I'll still pirate stuff that I'm unsure of. Demo's can be very misleading, reading a review tells me next to nothing, and just because my friend might like it we don't always have the same taste. Right before hopping into a dota tourny with some friends, one of them mentioned DG, said it was like dota. Thats great, but there's no demo, I can read as many reviews as I want all I know is that its a strategy RPG (or w/e they're calling it) that sort of plays
I wonder why the isn't small gold income for killing creeps. There is. It's just very small. 4 per minotaur, I think.
Coming from dota I felt that the bounty for killing creeps is a bit too small but at the same time its not like they're hard to kill either, 2-3 hits at the start of the game. On top of that the towers offer 300'ish gold which benefits other heroes, like Reg (with range, rook's syphon, etc
I havn't seen (or looked all that hard tbh) for any patchnotes or gradual updates (dev blogs and the like) regarding this game. Would anybody happen to have a link handy? Thanks.
Wow, never had that happen before actually. I must be one of the luckier people playing because I rarely have people drop, or games don't lag very often. I do get 2v1's and 1v2's though which aren't very fun being on either side (shallow win/loss).
Rofl...so true. P.S. IM ON A BOAT!
quoting post Was part of the beta, was unimpressed. Actual game mechanics aren't as tight as DOTA. Building up to higher tier items was a way better feature rather than in Demigod where you just buy the single item. I always felt that DotA's item system was awful as sin. Funny how perspective works, isn't it? Different games, different mechanics. Same genera. Would
I really hope "overpowered" starts disappearing from the forums some day. I'm not saying opinions on the subject are irrelevant, they've all had very good points, but Demigod is a game based on team play. 1v1 of course some dg's have a better chance to survive the outcome but claiming it's op is really hard to judge because it was just 1v1. I dunno, I just like the game the way it is now, maybe they can tweak some things but there are no dg's
Quoting Crazy1337, reply 20 Had a little break from this forums (not like i'm a regular) beta-testing League of Legends-Clash of Fates and found this thread, which was very interesting indeed... So far the dota elitists, yes we are elitists. I've been a part of the Dota Allstars community for well over 4 years and so far the DA community have left the DG community alone. Do not start a war. Hah! Thank you sir, I couldn't remember for the life of me the name of 'League of Legends' for a while now lol. But you are right, Dota is developed well and has been around for a while so learning all those heroes and items, which isnt even half of it. I can see how it would turn somebody off if they have never played before, but it is quite fun once you've learned the game. Having played in a few comp leagues and the guy that got me into those leagues, it makes it a lot more fun hav
Torch is easily the most underpowered hero. He doesn't have any shield or immunity, no heals, a movespeed increase which he has to be in a form that offers no control over heroes, and spells never scale as well as physical attacks or +life items will. Takes until mid game at least to be truly useful with a frost/fire build (which is imo the most powerful)
well iv never been a 1v1 player, just to much counter this to counter that, more flexible with 3v3 and such i love the concept of demigod, allways team games.
Relavance of this post?
I tend to mix both, as if you go pure fire all you are is burst'ish damage. Throw a fireball every CD and thats about it, and CoF every creep wave. You offer less help than a half-decent reg sniper with absolutely nothing else to offer (like mines and slowing attacks). Going pure frost you're not very useful, but more useful IMO than pure fire. Chances are you survive a lot better as pure frost than fire. Mixing both I tend to max fireball/deep freeze w/ synergy, frost nova, r
Personally not a fan at all of Dominate, like somebody else stated above thats what you're doing in every single game. A couple games I have been at a 3000+ defecit because either my allies sucked, or they were AI (which are HORRIBLE at dominate) and I have pushed myself to the enemy base holding most flags, having most kills, but I'm still doomed to lose because I can't possibly solo a Citadel. If they lowered the points required to win, and made it only grant points when you had mor
Guys, please treat each other with respect. Dota players and Demigod players should be friends. It pains us when people see these games as competitors when we thought part of the objective here is to help expand a fresh new genre into the gaming world. Unless Dota or Demigod players think this type of game is doomed to be a niche then why is there always so much animosity?
+1 I never actuall
F@## off and go post your stupid DOTA bull somewhere else! retards...DOTA has nothing on demigod. besides a bunch of unbalanced 93 stupid heros and stupid items. It's a team based game which is very skill dependant. Not to mention at the moment, dota has
I have never ever known of any company in canada that has PC game rentals, because to be honest its a bit late for that and is a silly idea by now. Anybody even remotely interested in a game, but don't know what to expect will either A. Buy the game outright with the potential to be disappointed and waste $40-$60. B. Download a demo, only experiencing a part of the game still without actually knowing sometimes wtf the game is even about (I have downloaded several demo's before that throw
Sure it does, if you're not playing comp then theres lots of heroes to mess around with. And I never really left dota, still play it every once in a while with friends, and play in a few tourny here and there.
Bought it the day after I pirated it. Wouldn't have done otherwise.
Same here. I pirate stuff because demo's are shit, and the vast majority of games are shit. I buy whats worth buying... I don't buy some random game and hope its good. I don't have the money like that, hell if I had bought Burnout: Paradise or NFS: Undercover I would have been right pissed. What a total load of crap those games were
Stuff should be reset after every Pantheon
+2 The achievements give you more favor points (I think?), they should be reset every pantheon (at least I like it for myself so I can see what I have accomplished in the tourny thusfar). However, it would be nice if they kept an OVERALL achievement list to keep track of what you have done since you started playing the game.
IMO the flags should have a chain of control. But yea, always have a TP (never played dota? =o)
