Why not audio cues for all of these things? But yeah, "scout under attack" or even better, no message. Scouts are made to die. I don't really even want to hear from them. And "single enemy ship en route to one of our planets" would be so muh more useful, IMO.

Excellent posts, both hdaboy and Darvin3. Now how to tell IC so they'll fix these issues. It is always important to remember that a majority of customers of most any computer game never even use the online feature (think Galactic Cvilizations). As such, if any company has to put its resources into something in a computer game, they should be directed toward SP first, because SP is what draws most players, while multiplayer will just keep some of them around much longer. Heh, I was homeschooled as well. In college now though.
Great guys! I'll definitely get it then. Thanks a lot!
I tried out the demo and thought it was OK, though it did have some annoyances (such as extremely tedious trade) that apparently were fixed in the expansions. What do you guys think? For a strategy gamer, is it worth it? I'd of course be getting the whole pack.
Got ETW for $25 on the special deal a few weeks ago, having waited forever to get it. Glad I only spent $25 on it. I've stopped playing it already, the bugs and feature lacks pester me to no end, even at patch 1.3. No AI naval invasions, naval combat messed up, diplomacy non-existent, etc. It's untolerable. The UI and game graphics are so much better than Medieval II, but the bugs and other problems make it unplayable.
Yes, I use the singlelayer speed option all the time. But I have a crossover cable between my LAN machines. Lag is not an issue. Why is adjusting the speed not an option? At the worst, have an "allow speed adjustion during game" option before the start, that all players can vote on.
Its not. Press the Pause/break button on the keyboard to pause (if you dont have one you may need to reassign the key via the options menu). If you turn on autosave, each player will periodically autosave at the exact same time, allowing you to easily access the last autosave and reload the game if someone gets disconnected. Also, anytime a player saves the game, it creates a save of the same name on all the other players ma
I'm kind of annoyed with the lack of necessary multiplyer features, specifically LAN. There is absolutely no way to pause the game, such as if it's dinner time. The game cannot be saved if one player loses connection. And there is no master speed control, like in singleplayer, for those times when nothing is happening. I'm not gonna play a game with someone (particularly on LAN) if I don't trust them to use the speed control and pause features wisely. Why is such an obvious, simple fe
Looks like a great mod! Is this compatible with all mods? That Spiral thing makes it harder to see, as well. Always has annoyed me.
Great thanks! I'll try it out. BTW, the music is great in this mod. I really only like Classical music, but seriously, I appreciate the music. Oftentimes I'll turn off the music in a game if it has a strong beat, but not for this mod. [e digicons][/e]
Heh. My brother and I don't talk too much about this game to our parents. We're plenty old enough, but just look at the title of the game. And with the Advent being an obvius parody on organized religion, my parents would appreciate it less, not mentioning the obvious technologies like "divination". My Dad was even offended by the evil-sounding Vasari voices, so I turned them off temporarily, until I realized how much of a disadvantage it was. And yeah, I was recently teaching my 13-year old
I don't currently have a Soundmusic file in that folder. Should I? Got a Soundeffects and soundDialogue file, but no Soundeffects. Music does seem to work without it - not sure what's up? Got version beta 0.82
I would really like a version for Entrenchment 1.03. Danman, any idea of when it will be out?
Just got up to 2000 pop on an urban planet one game. Always make your urban planet your capital. More than 100 credits per turn is possible from planetary income alone. And yeah, the Galactic trade center is awesome. EDIT: Couple of complaints about the mod though. The light blue background is intolerably bright, and the brown almost as bad. Also, I still get minidumps on loading a map every now and then. That's the only time though. Also, the urban and military planet pop upgrades (t
So this mod does not currently work with Entrenchment 1.03?

If I order it here how can I put it on BOTH of my computers? I would really perfer the hard copy overall but haven't been burned on the few downloads I have done so far. I have the game on pre order but can switch that for another game if I get too anxious over this game.
Yeah, I saw that, about
Yeah, I'd like to know more about this as well. I want to buy the complete series, and am trying to decide whether to buy the online pack now for $60, or wait a month and get the boxed pack for $40.
I just wanted to report that I downloaded some older drivers for my graphics card from Intel's site. They seemed to reduce the flickering, but definitely not eliminate it. Then, I decided to test the game in windowed mode. It works perfectly, at the same resolution I was using fullscreen! So it seems the flickering only happens in fullscreen. As I have no reason to wish to run the game in fullscreen over windowed mode, I guess I'll be buying the game. One quick question: Can my graphics card
Hey there. I'm running the GC2 Gold demo on the 32-bit Windows 7 Beta. Game works great, except for this extremely annoying screen flickering, in which certain portions of my monitor will flicker at certain zoom levels and in certain menus. I have older hardware, but everything looks great (good graphics quality), except for the flickering which at times does not exist and at other times is incessant. Nothing else in Windows 7 flickers except this game. I'm enojoying the Demo a lot, a
