Zoom and Pan erratic in large game end stage in Sins of a Solar Empire II Sins2 Forums

Playing the "Random 10 Player - Multi Star" map. I play TEC Enclave and make extensive use of the Garrison Recruitment Center to add garrisoned ships. At some point as my empire expanded, the zoom and pan became sluggish and began jumping from a view of the planetary region all the way to the farthest out zoom showing the entire galaxy with just one step of the mouse wheel.
