You can't really blame the DVD Forum anyway - they're essentially, little difference from ANSI, ISO or VESA. They only create/vote/whatever standards. I have, actually, finally been able to get Gentoo to install and boot under VMWare 4 - now, I just need to get it to acknowledge that ANY OF THE VIRTUAL HARDWARE ACTUALLY EXISTS. It can't even detect the framebuffer.
