Straight from the 1.03 change log.
-New AI Difficulty "Unfair" that gives the AI a tax income bonus and resource income bonus from resource asteroids (there is no other AI cheating in the game even at the Unfair difficulty level).
Definitive proof that only unfair cheats.
The argument for being able to build more ships doesnt wash. At some point you will reach the fleet cap
True. However, as I said before, TEC has the economy to outproduce the other races. Getting trade ports at 2 civic research stations gives TEC an early head start, while the huge bonuses to trade in RESEARCH give them an end game advantage (in economy at least). Even if your fleet gets demolished, if you have the economy and the ship production speed re
I fear it will be nerfed.
I hope it gets nerfed. It really makes the game too easy against hard and even unfair opponents. The AI just sits there and gets blown to hell instead of disabling the Marza. I don't want to have to not use the ability because it is too good. Devs- please nerf the ability or make disabling the Missile Barraging Marza a higher priority for the AI

It always does that, or else it would be possible to make a map with no colonizable planets. If you want complete customization, use the Galaxy Forge, which can be found on the Sins website.

I just was playing a SP game for about 2 hours and I got two level 6 Marzas when my fleet and my enemies fleets met. I used both of their missile barrages and it LITERALLY destroyed their ENTIRE fleet (about 1000 fleet cap). This feels like cheating. ;)

dancinphil- One little thing that helped me tremendously in "pacing" my gameplay with the AI is playing against a hard opponent and regularly checking the diplomacy screen. This allowed me to see how I compared to the AI in-game, and gave me a feel for about how fast i should build ships/research/colonize etc.

When you have the group you want selected holt ctrl and press 1. If this doesn't work check your key bindings in the menu. And replying to your own post 12 minutes after it is made will annoy people and make them not want to help you.
Is six months how long it is supposed to take for a game to work like it should have from the start?
Alex, the game worked perfectly fine from the start. Considering how complex the game is, it is no surprise that the game may have some MINOR issues. The devs put out 6 patches in 6 months I believe - you should be ecstatic with how this game is developing.

To the culture question: Culture rates are much faster when they are just coming out of the planet that the culture center is in. If your culture centers are very far away then they will have a very hard time pushing back culture in an enemy planet that has culture centers in it.

Sounds like you are spending way too much money on defenses and tactical slot upgrades. You need to spend your resources on your fleet, almost none on defense except on strategic planets. If you click the diplomacy tab and click on yourself you can check your game ranking in military, empire, and economic standings. This is a useful way to make sure you are matching the AI's fleet and cap ship levels etc.
