The ai does care and will return but its very slow in changing its strat to defending its HM. And ya, gauss upgrades are nutty. Its cd on attack rate stacking is what's crazy on it imo. not sure if what you said is a typo of its description.

They are pretty strong. The devs have looked at this before and made them more expensive to build but if they go to high then its like why bother to make them. A hard cap on these ships might not be a bad idea, just my opinion. 1v1 pvp its a lot different but vs the AI its to go to plan basically. They can throw anything they want at me but particularly as the Vasari, I crush the AI at any numbers/difficulty/map size on caps alone.

They do upgrades and progression, its just very slow. Currently they dump everything into ship building so everything else staggers. But the devs said there will be more AI passes and I hope so, even in impossible difficulty settings, I give the AI allies up to groups of four x2 so far and its not been very hard.

yup, its a place holder. That unit has been getting changes here and there for a while. This is Beta after all. I am not sure it still does this but if you scroll out far on the map it will also appear to be an illuminator(?) or whatever that advent ship is named.

yar, I was really hoping for July but I get it. Third quarter so I would realistically expect the very last month/week of that, unless its pushed back again. A few of my friends are waiting and its getting hard telling them "not yet" lol. Dev tools though, that sounds really fun. I have not taken out my 3d studio for a spin for quite some time sense I have been working in Solid works as far a cad goes. For the guys saying the game looks the same as the first

I have to agree. The numbers on the screen would be nuts. I have been in engagements with 4 other AI's and it was already pretty crazy with the strike crafts, bombers, missiles. I do agree with docking and launching part but they are doing it now already it seems. Unlike sins, still can't chose the type of craft yet unless I missed something. But paying for the craft, that sounds really expensive and they would need some srs buffing to justify that. It be cool t

It was a good point and interesting. I though that was what was happening, seen the notes quite a while ago about the boarding company/planet claiming. Something like this happened to me a while ago, though you could side step the caps on civ/orbit slots with the shift key. It really looked like you could but you can't.

I would probably wait for the moding tools if I was you. Not sure why you want to do what you want to do but classical sins had high resources start options and I would be very surprised if it does not eventually come around again for sins2 game options.

Probably, I just kind of wish they would resume the not so large updates in between and as for saying its in summer, I actually hate when devs use that as a time table cause summer can be very different times across the globe (and that's the intent I get) and we all know they wait till like the last day possible to be updated or push back. A lot of my friends are holding out for the big release though, I couldn't clearly lol. Looking forward to it on steam when it happens.

That's a good point I feel, if they are temp. Personally I never used that ability I admit. Is it worth it. I typically just turn them into pure heal bots but I suppose if you got like 10 of them later in game it can be pretty nutty.

Ah, never mind, it does go to the asteroid but then stops under a status of "awaiting civic slots" Sorry and disregard. I would delete the post if I knew how.

Hay guys. I do not see this reported after looking around a little so I am reporting here. Basically, if you hold shift and click a stack of asteroid to build/mine, as long as you have enough civic slots for only one of them and resources for all of them, then all of them will be built regardless of its limit/level. Not sure unless I am missing something. Anyone can try this in a game.

[quote who="Valkyrie8053" reply="2" id="3933141"] The lack of planetary build up appears to be a thing on all difficulty levels. Id like to see AI more concerned with their planets. One of the things I like about sins that differentiate it from literally all other RTS is the slower build up. Zerg rushing and grabbing planets for quick resource gain is not really a thing in sins like metal in supreme commander or like food/stone in age of empires 2. These are planets

Pretty much what I do. Also look at key choke points in the galaxy to muster up some defense, don't over extend from these defense point as its pointless to take more that you could not defend till you are ready. Watching the AI is also important. I keep my scouts alive and have them poke in and out of area's to see where the AI has advanced and where its fleet is at. If they are taking over a planet one jump away then its safe to assume where they will be going next and to plan for it. In hi

This is just my feed back and experience to add to this post. I don't play on easy, sadly I only play Impossible but I still consistently outpace the AI's in planet expanding. Maybe because its on a 10 player map, not sure. It takes resources to build up a claimed location and as of now, the AI is very much heavy in churning out unit after unit so it just might not have the resources right away and struggles to do this on easy. Also, the AI characteristic choices don't

Fixed it? Was it broken? I could see them adding more cues to actions we take but luckily there is auto save for such things. I have lost a titan that way, not realizing it was caught in a 3 way fight by itself but that was 100% my fault for not paying attention.

6 Replies 6,830 Views

I agree, probably an update on this is coming out with the third faction and I would guess more improvements will follow past 1.0 . Hope they do get some early improvement on ally AI interaction though its fun currently to keep your ally alive in a 2v4v4 impossible AI setting map.

it wont be for a few months still but ya, waiting myself. When the game gets on steam I plan on buying copies for my whole group. We use to play Sins often back in the day. Advent was pretty cool, I liked the metor starbase upgrade, always thought how fitting and unique it was.

I don't think so but it is beta. It very likely will considering you could in the last one. You are asking questions as if the game was completed. But if you edit out culture or something you might as well just not have the race on the map at all. That makes no sense to remove of identifies the differences of the three.
