Starbase with the bombardment upgrade in the gravity well negates this almost entirely.
Yeah, the AI seems out of whack pretty badly.
Steam in and of itself never requires a permanent internet connection. They have an offline mode that's pretty handy. I agree steam'll advertise the crap out of it whenever it goes on sale! As for the requiring steam for Multiplayer, Steamworks doesn't really involve multiplayer. The multiplayer system could be identical to the original Sins - all that would be gained (or lost?) is that you'd be able to shift-tab to have the steam overlay/chat on (to tal
Steamworks usually implies steam exclusive. Well, more, you can usually buy the game anywhere but it requires steam to run as it makes your saves available anywhere. You'll likely need steam to run the game though - nothing bad about that.
DG-3409294 = Used. Thanks Ralsar!
Honestly if they're not producing the game (and even if they are) go for it if it's really old. I've bought at least two or three copies of SC and lost them everytime, I feel absolutely no bad will about pirating a copy now. Same with ancient games, anything over 5 years (C&C Red Alert for example) I generally pirate just to keep my disks free of scratches etc for things like that.
We think rook is the 2nd best (OP'd) character after Regelus. A good rook will absolutely dominate anyone else to date in our games.

That's really the answer I've been looking for this whole thread, and I haven't actually seen any good suggestions. Well, they ARE adapting. That's what DRM, online-only, and moving everything off of PC and to the consoles is. But pirates don't seem to actually want them to "adapt", they seem to want them to give away everything for free. To put it fondly, "They're doing it wrong". Seriously, DRM has driven me off certain products. If I buy I a game, I want to run it 10 years from now, I want to install it as many times as I need too and I want to b
I think the biggest issue with this is that the ruling does not stop the site. The piracy will go on, as will ad revenues etc. They /technically/ had nothing other than a website hosted. They didn't actually store any files. I mean, I see all these people celebrating a huge win and victory against piracy, but really, this isn't it. This doesn't stop piracy, it isn't even a blow to piracy. Four people, who don't have the money to pay if they wanted too were given jail ti
I might've missed something, but is it possible to and/or is it planned too make it possible to join a game as a team? Basically me and my friends are looking at moving over to this as a competitive game for a while, but we'd want to play together on a team. Is this at all planned or?
I think once it clears up a lot of the pirates will become legit users. I know myself and at least 3 friends now are playing together via Hamachi waiting to see if/when the internet issues clear up.
It should be that the person who crashed is replaced with an AI and everyone else remains together. That is what occurred last night when I alt-tabbed and got DC'd because of it.

Me and a couple friends are waiting to see if we all buy copies, or if we stick with one for LAN play. At the moment, we can beat the impossible AI pretty easily so that's kind of saddening too.

I perhaps should have just asked how to create a double install then without an explanation, but I'm not paying the ten dollars for Entrenchment unless I can have it both ways; playing online with people who win about minor balance issues doesn't appeal. @Kyro, we don't play regularly. We play for a few days once a year or so in the summer, before they get bored and it's over. I can reinstall each time, which is what I've been doing to date, but I have enough room

Heya all, Since my friends are not as much fans of the game as I am, I am in the position where they play illegal versions and I have bought the game. Since I deeply enjoy the patches and would love to buy Entrenchment and give it a whirl while not limiting my ability to play with my friends I was wondering if anyone had an idea how to create a double install of Sins, one that I could run 1.05 as and the other as an Entrenchment copy? Any ideas? Thanks
