I honestly see no difference between the old hard ai and the new one. It still is too easy and they still stop being aggressive after about 30 min in a match.

I wouldn't mind a co-op game with some folks, but I have absolutely no interest in PVP because all RTS PVP games end up the same way; first to successfully rush their opponent wins. Yay, how fun... I'd rather stay single (player) for most games.
With the Enclave this is doable. Try doing it with the Primacy for a real challenge...good luck defending those vulnerable areas.
I honestly feel the focus fire command should be the default command. The AI seems to focus fire their attacks, and I don't see any reason in a large battle to *not* focus fire, so why it's not the default is beyond me.
I had this problem too. I chalk it up to my yolomouse app that I use in most games to make the cursor just a tiny bit larger.
In the game options, try setting 'Cluster Orbital Structures' to Disabled in User Interface -> Miscellaneous.
Today I learned...this exists. Thank you.
If you have ANY mods active at all, that will cause it to not register.
I believe current owners will be able to get a free Steam key?
While it would be nice, I've seen no mention of that anywhere. To be honest, I've never heard of a company doing that before so this would be uncharted territory if they were to do it. In short, I don't see it happening.
Nobody is actually playing the faction yet, the videos you see are from the developers. You'll just have to wait for two more weeks like the rest of us mere mortals.
Exactly my opinion. Even though there are no new races or anything like that, the game is already much better than Sins 1. Each faction has much more depth. Look at Starcraft, the developers have been working with the same races for decades without a new one being added. And the games are still very cool because the races have just evolved. Sins 2 does the same thing at the moment and in my opinion is a complete success so far. And the units
The problem with building a "cap only" fleet is that, other than being expensive, it takes quite a few cap ships before you reach critical mass. Even a fleet of 5 cap ships can be overwhelmed by a moderate sized fleet. It really takes about 7 or 8 caps to be strong enough to fight large fleets. As for pvp battles, if you allow your opponent enough time to build a fleet of cap ships then you deserve to have to deal with it.
Lastly (and most controversial) 1 squadron of fighters/bombers should take up 1 fleet supply to limit spam and performance hit. (Scorch me all you want I still think it's needed)
Disagree with this statement, that would just cause people to either only build carriers or not build them at all due to taking up too much supply. Only way around this would be to increase the supply limit drastica
Any news on the Advent? I heard they're not in it yet and honestly have no intention of playing until they are. Best faction by a mile in the first game imo. Also is there any other factions in the works? I honestly expected any sort of sequal to introduce a completely new race. Otherwise it's almost like you've just done a graphical and UI overhaul of the first game with a few slight changes... Don't get me wrong, am hyped af for
Each time I play the Annulus map set at around the 30 minute mark, a massive pirate fleet of 50 plus ships attacks one of my planets. This is not balanced. This has occurred at least eight times in a row.
I've encountered this a few times as well (and yes they were absolutely pirates as they have unique ships). It seems to happen mostly when you take a planet bordering the pirate base. They swarm in with a HUGE fleet, destroy
On unfair or nightmare difficulty if you leave the center of the map for the AI and you don't create chock point with starbases from the start of the game to limit de expansions of the AI, you will lose every time. Why ? because the AI will always have 4 or 6 times more resources and bonuses for the research. With the rush to the center of the map and beyond the star you will be almost in pair with AI
I am against this simply due to the cost suggestion for each fighter. Money is already tight until end game so this would result in never building a carrier until late game, which by then it doesn't matter what you build anymore since you have critical mass. Having to shell out money for each fighter would cause a drain every time you try to initiate even a small skirmish. Not a good idea.
When you say "rush into the sun" what do you mean by that? I typically avoid going through or past the sun simply because it takes the fleet far too long to fly around it to get to the next jump point. I only go if I have no other move. I nearly always disable the "rotating planets" option also because I find it to be irritating overall and often like I'm chasing a carrot on a stick.
That's a good point I feel, if they are temp. Personally I never used that ability I admit. Is it worth it. I typically just turn them into pure heal bots but I suppose if you got like 10 of them later in game it can be pretty nutty.
It's good if you are trying to swarm say a starbase or it can provide a quick fleet boost for a large battle. Usually by the time you get the ability though, your fleet shou
So what is this for a journal you are following? Last year was said "Advent comming winter 2023". Now it is still saying "Advent commin early 2024". We have now summer 2024 and mid year. When do you think you are going to release advent? I mean... All capital ships, Titans, fractions, even the fregates and smaller ships are like in Sins 1. Til now there is no new fraction. No new
That's pretty much the only efficient way to play any vasari faction. You need to be constantly building phase gates at all planets ASAP so that you can roam and quickly defend. If you aren't doing that, then you are doing it wrong. I suppose another way to do it is to research the planet eating ability and just go from planet to planet and consume all resources, but I haven't even tried the ability so not sure if there are stipulations (I'd rather keep them for constant resource infusion).</

I've noticed at least two mini-patches for Sins 2 over the last two weeks but I can't seem to find any notes as to what they do. So...what are they doing? What are they changing?
As far as research goes, I believe they are going back to using the stations for research instead of planets. This is going to make me shelve the game until either an update comes out or the game is released as I don't want to get used to playing it one way (planets used for research) and then have it revert to default (spamming stations to get research tree up). Personally, I prefer the new way with planets as it helps free up valuable orbital slots.
