Quoting slurple, reply 76Add multiplayer. This would not be a small update
Add a menu for the MP-cheat (#5 from here) , so even in a game with fog of war every empire can be played from turn 0 . i.e. when the cheat is entered, a selection box should pop up, presenting a list of the (full?) empires that are currently available (i.e. haven't been wiped out) and asking you

Well, why not? [e digicons]o_O[/e] After all it belongs to the game... In such a case it'd be time to for gratulations and the next session - of course a bit anger sometimes included, but that goes for all MP games, I'd say. Of course missing possibilities to control your diplomatic ambassador might make for some not-so-nice situations ("WHY did you let yourself be talked into declaring war on , you FOOL? Wardens, get away with him!!" [e
I completly agree im sick of game companys selling out for multiplayer when they could spend more time on single player like the new game stardock's making i hope the new turnbased strategy doesn't have multiplayer Multiplayer tends to kill good games look at heroes 3 and then heroes 4.....Heroes of might and magic 3 was awesome *The Turn based strategy not rpg* It had great fluff and killer strategy with HotSeat Co op so you could play with family
First, this new addon seems pretty nice... But I too have the problems some other people posted, no creditcard nor paypal-account . But maybe I'll change the latter one within the next months, mostly just for the GC2-addons... Lol. IMO,
As several people above said, I wouldn't want any "balancing" for MP in GC2. The purpose of a game like this is NOT to get people to compete for a fast victory, but to actually tell an entertaining/interesting story and let people play with the included editing (ship construction for example). At least that's how I see it . And it'd certainly be an interesting experience to have one (or even multiple) of
Quote: Personally, I would like to have gigantic ship. But it should be possible to make only one. That would be mothership. make it either really expensive, or unique. pride of civilization, a flagship. You don't need a limit for this - it should be so that the cost/logistics is the factor that keeps you from building too many of them. And then it would be really nice if you got to accomplish around three of them to impress your enemies which maybe could only build on
Sorry for picking this up so late... I hope this is no problem... As for my problems - thanks for pointing me to that, I somehow confused "supporting DX9" with "being able to have DX9 installed on"... As I said
Hm, this is just the feature I (as sort of an Master of Orion 2 fan) really miss in GC2 - not to say it's a bad game, it certainly isn't . But as far as I remember, in some article that pre viewed GC2, it was already said that tactical combat wouldn't be in before GC3 (just like kryo said above). Which is something I can live with very well - I'll just play around with GC2's ship editor and
Well, I can't really participate in the discussion about balance, because I just yesterday got GC2 v1-0 to work (on my other PC, which has some not-so-nice issues, which is why I waited so long trying it there). (the first - quite complex - design I made unluckily lost more then half it's jewelry when I saved it. Is this an engine limitation, a bug in v1.0 or what else happened?) But, I have to say - saving designs to disk for future use is one thing that directly struck me in
First of, sorry for not reading the thread - I will do so in a few days. Second - is there any chance of the romulan D'Kazanak class warbird (was only mentioned in one book, as far as I know) making an appearance? After all a game like this would play in sort of a parallel-universe and there it might enter actual production... <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Wink.gif" border=0
Hm, I don't know all SW-ships, but from those I do know... : 1. SSD Executor (by far the best ) 2. TIE Advanced (Avenger?) 3. TIE Advanced X-1 (Vader's fighter) 4. TIE Defender 5. Chiss Clawcraft ? (no idea how it looks, but the descriptions in the books sounded nice) 6. TIE Bomber 7. Imperial Shuttle (Lambda ?) 8. XJ-Wing (not that I've seen it, I'm just curio
Uh, that seems pretty much like what I get (simply crashes back to desktop from loading screen) - just that I already got it with the initial CD-installation (bought it in a store here in Germany) . [edit: oops, forgot to mention - I downloaded the patch from the site, i.e. without Stardock Central] Here are the 2 debug.err's, first the one without patch : _____________________________
Many nice designs here . I especially like the two Crawlers because of their unusual look . The "transformers"-ship looks nice, but it sort of more reminds me of Homeworld's ships... Hm... will have to
Moosetek13 - Yes, its quite possible a driver (or .dll) issue... I'll see if the patch helps and look for the support-forum if not. Cauldyth - Yup, I'd include myself in that group, too . Would like to see at least a few of these points in GC2... but you're right in that this also has some disadvantages. Hope I'll enjoy GC2, too <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gif" borde
My favorite points in the DA list (where do I need to vote for a poll here? Or was I just too late?) : 1. designing your opponents 2. planet-specific environments 3. new ships/hulls/goodies 4. epic generator And what else I'd want in? Hm, special ship systems/race traits - i.e. that have some feel of sense/personality and not just numbers - would be my first favourite, and quite some other ideas I assembled over time while playing other such games (sorry, but it's g
Will have to see if the game now works - only installed yesterday, though, so no offence . So far everything here seems quite well (so - thanks for the update from me, too). Most propably, though, I'll have to search for updates for my somewhat old system (graphics driver from 2001, anyone? - lol ) ... or wait t
Bl4ckSh33p: I like MO2, too . Recently reinstalled it. How do you play MP there? It does want a phone number, which won't work for DSL, right? I installed DOSBox in hope that might solve it, but as my PC isn't THAT new (lol - AMD 900 ) it runs rather slow with DOSBox... <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/
Hm, that's bad, right... How it compares to GalCiv2 I don't really know, as I havent seen much of both so far (installed GalCiv2 yesterday but it sort of refuses to run... and I played the SE IV demo a while ago); but from what little I know of , on the minus side (for me) I'd mention that it (SE) has only jump-travel between systems (or at least, SE IV had that, don't remember seeing any not
