Anybody else caught in a hohum game in Galactic Civilizations II GalCiv2 Forums

After eary expansion as far as I could go I have my "empire" staked out. I'm running in the top end of production and research and bottom end of military. Sending scouts out shows everybody has staked out their own sectors and the map is for the most part set. [ I'm playing normal setting ]. A point brought up is how you can offer all your techs and a ton of money and the alien won't trade. And I mean for a simple tech. I wanted soil enhancement and offered 2 weapons tech and 1000 credits and he wouldn't do it. This guy even liked me. I admit soil enhancement is a useful tech but I know the techs and money I offered was way over the top. A Civ 4 type of exchange would be better. Also you need to be able to tell somebody to stop

I'm on my 3rd start over. 1st one to get a feel for the game not trying to really get anywhere. 2nd game didn't like where I was on the game map. 3rd one started out over on the edge out of everyones way. Had a good game going using my usual strategy of expansion putting all my money into colony ships and buying planet improvements whenever I had money banked up. Also putting money into research. How does the update beta and final effect current game in play. In other games mods only show on new games,which is a drag if you have a good game going. Hopefully you will have it blend in a current game. Also as far as the beta your statement "are you feeling dangerous tonight" makes me wonder if I should wait for the patch. Hello everyone, just purchased the game and in checking the manual I have a question on the video requirements. I may be just alittle dense here but do you have to have a stand alone video card or is it a recomendation for better quality video.
