The premise for this game sounds rather interesting: big scale, slower paced, epic - RTS and 'turn based philosophy' blend. I am a big Galciv and RTS fan, so in principle it sounds like this game should be right up my alley. The question is - before I plonk down $44 - what are everybody's impressions so far? I'd like to make an informed decision before I commit. Thanks

Hi Folks, I have purchased object desktop for my laptop. I would like to install it on my desktop as well. I don't know if the EULA covers this (I can't seem to find a copy of a EULA in my object desktop documents.) Can someone clarify if it is 'legal' for me to install a copy on my desktop without forking out another $45? I know that GalCiv II lets you do this. Many thanks, Mangler

for creating the most addictive game I've played in years! Civ4, my previous favorite, had the 'just one more turn' feeling. But, I have to say, it also felt a little bit too much like work from time to time. GalCiv has a quirky charm that just can't be beat, and the fun factor of playing against an eerily smart AI. Well done guys! My game of the year, by far. In fact, the only game that came close the whole of last year was CIV4. <br/

An editors choice award! Well done. It looks like the reviewer took the time to play (and enjoy) the game. Strangely, it wasn't on their site though. I found the link to it through metacritic http://www.metacritic.com/games/pc/. Galciv2 is at 90% on metacritic and is one of the few games along with CIV4 to hold this distinction. Let's hope the average stays up there, but the signs are good. All hail Stardock! Cheers, Mangler

Thanks man! Will do as you suggest. I have been allowing massive pop growth and I guess this is the problem. I was hoping there was some other way as I was enjoying the tax dollars. Cheers!

Hey folks, Total noob here. Obviously loving the game. I don't have any bugs or CTD's yet, so happy days! Question: how do you guys keep your approval ratings up? Any quick tips? I always build entertainment centres etc and try to use the social spending to modulate it, but it always plummets like a stone mid game to 40% and dropping for my homeworld. What do you guys suggest? Thanks for the help. Cheers, mangler

yes! absolutely yes. I have a desktop and laptop machine, but i travel quite a lot. having galciv 2 work on my laptop is a really important issue for me because i sometimes get helluva bored on those travels. so in answer to the question - yes, yes a thousand times yes - the ability to play on a laptop is important.
