For the past month, I've been using WindowBlinds instead of ThemeXP, and I have developed a high regard for the program. My biggest reason, is because I use Netscape as opposed to IE (there are a couple features I like better w/ Netscape), the download manager lets me automatically download new skins and such into the proper folder so that the program has no trouble finding it. I'm also impressed that unlike ThemeXP, there's no Visual

Ahhh yes the wonderful possibilities with TweakUI. I initally downloaded that one just to get rid of the stupid logon screen, which was useless considering I'm the only one that uses this system. My question: Can we set it up so that Windows doesnt (insert latest unexplanable headache here)??

It took me awhile to get the hang of it, but until I can afford to buy OD+, having the taskbar on autohide so that I can access the Systray is my best option. I have both Theme XP, and WindowBlinds, and love playing with them. I think I change my theme at least once a week. Now if I could just get up the nerve to fiddle w/ the Boot Screens. Having read ppl's problems, I cant make myself try it out, out of fear that I'm gonna mes

I'm impressed that this conversation is still ongoing. It's one of the reasons I like coming here, for both the techie stuff, and otherwise. I've belonged to way to many discussion groups that simply permanently remove those who stray from what is considered the "norm". And as to where I'll go from here?? Right now I'm torn between unspeakable anger at the absolute absurdity of the incident, and profound sorrow for those whose lives were t

Indeed there is one. I am now SUCH the happy camper. This lil docklet lets me keep an eye on the basic stuff. https://www.wincustomize.com/viewskin.aspx?LibID=29&SkinID=3916 a small side note.....my dad is convinced I've hacked into some program and have destroyed windows. my mom finds it hilarious because now he cant get on anyone's computer (major drama, last time he did it to "look through ebay", my brother wound

K, so I kinda sorta figured out a way to fix my dial up problem. 1. Move OD to somewhere besides bottom center on my screen. 2. Tell OD to leave the taskbar showing. 3. Open the taskbar properties and select auto hide. I know it's silly to have both running at once, but at least this temporairly solves my problem.

My new favorite reason for loving OD. I'm really picky about my wallpapers. I'm the type that cant stand folders, and icons cluttering up the image. OD lets me have all my stuff at my fingertips w/o being intrusive. Heh, I'm turning into quite the little advertisement here. Showed the difference between the windows taskbar, and OD to several friends, all who immediately demanded to be told WHERE I got it. I dont know if they downloaded the a

K, while looking at a friends iBook, I loved the fact that he had this set up on his system, or something similar (I could be talking about two diff prog, for all I know) to it at least. I wanted it for XP. He pointed me in this direction. He said that he's never downloaded anything from here, but he found this while looking for a program for his mom. Anyways, I'm getting off subject here. I'm always leery when I download a program that take

Then, realizing that this is no more a place for my ranting, than their own, I chose to do so on my own space.

I'm a writer by heart (meaning its my greatest passion). And as such, ppl always look to me for the right thing to say. Only, in times like this, I'm at a complete loss for words. I dont think I'll ever understand this kind of "shock value". Once again, they went for a target that would present the greatest number of fatallities. It's been estimated that around 3 million ppl use the Tube (a popular term for the Underground) on a daily bas

This reminds me of the kid who set himself on fire while his friend filmed it, for a presentation they had in a class. He suffered 3rd degree burns over a HUGE part of his body. They said they got the idea from a show on MTV called Jackass (heard of it, never seen it personally). I think the biggest thing that kinda got to me was the fact that they werent little kids. They were between 12 and 14. At that age, you'd think they'd be old enough to say "if
