The problem is when you are playing against the AI it can field bigger fleets faster than you can. Your advantage is you can field better fleets. What hurts isn't just the fact that you can't get out capitals but you can't get out Starbases. Even if you get out Starbases and caps you can't equip them with items to allow them to do the damage necessary to keep up with defensive upgrades. Bumping the refineries up a tier might not be too bad on its own. Reducing

I knew that the changes to exotics were going to be bad, but it was worse than I thought. Not only can you not build capitals in the early game, it means you can't equip them. You also can't build starbases. I don't know what they were trying to fix but this has broken the game in my opinion particularly against AI.
Why? I don't know how this will affect PVP players but it is going to suck against the AI which can field larger fleets faster in the early game. Being able to build a better fleet than the AI by being able to field capitals is how you survive. This feels like an attempt to make the early game longer when what is needed is ways to make the late game more challenging instead of just a mopping job.
Yeah, I wouldn't mind if they reduced the percentage. 2.5% seems a little much, 5% seems better in my mind, but it wouldn't bother me if it was 2.5%.
The change to make Looting Crews an auction item and replacing it with Smuggler's Den is a bad change in my opinion. - I find it difficult to win auctions against the AI to the point I rarelly bother. - Looting Crews can form an important part to building an economy. Being able to buy them is crucial to developing that. Hoping for an auction I'm not likely to win destroys that. Plus it appears they stop getting offered after a wh
While I agree that the endgame needs improvement, I don't know that a new enemy appearing out of nowhere is the solution.
Added Pirate Smugglers Den with 10 AU range for Pirates only. The Smuggler’s Den replaces the Looting Crew in the Pirate Influence item shop. Looting Crew now appears in the Pirate auction pool instead. Really not happy with this: - I find it difficult to win auctions against the AI to the point I rarelly bother. - Looting Crews can form an important part to building an economy. Being able to buy them is crucial to developing that. Hopin
What parameter options are you looking for? My friends and I don't have a problem with playing on the LAN when together and just use the multiplayer option when we play across the Internet.
I'd like to see the ability to sell tech and ships to your allies. Perhaps even an ability to steal tech from other civilizations.

We are all very eager to hear the community feedback on what they'd like to see from multiplayer, including a focus on 5v5. I'm sure you folks would crush me under your boot, but when the time is right, it'd be great to get out there and duke it out. Rest assured, we aren't ignoring this critical part o
A 'classic' mode isn't in the cards. However, multiplayer is getting a lot of attention.
Booo - but not unexpected. Is a classic mode something that modders might be able to make happen?

To be fair you can do that whether they have a story mode or not. Not like you will have to play it.
Never heard of Epic games. What is that? I have 170 purchased games in my Steam library. I did have to get a UbiSoft account for Anno1800. Really happy about Sins2 coming out. Hope it can be on Steam, too. Seems silly to go with an unknown, unheard vendor for release of Sins2. I wonder what the thinking was behind that. I'd like to get into the Beta and pre-order; maybe Stardock can make a direct download available. Just my two cents as a su
Great so why can't I pre-order this on Steam, GOG, Origin, UPlay, Humble Bundle etc??
Probably because Epic paid them for the exclusive at least for the pre-orders. Possibly not even for the full period. I wouldn't worry about it until it actually releases.
Also, a single-player campaign (or even a multiplayer campaign) would be great. SoaSE is the only game I know of that has an incredible amount of lore that doesn't get explored, revealed, and advanced in gameplay.
Shrugs, I'm good either way (although my preferred platform would be GOG I imagine that isn't on the table) but I do assume as far as multiplayer is concerned it won't matter where you buy it from.
Here is a feature that could be nice or cool if it is feasible. Support for multiple and split screens. Imagine putting your tactical view on one monitor and system view on another then if you are trying to manage multiple battles be able to split the window (or put more system views on other monitors) to view and manage multiple battles.
If I'm really honest all I really want is the current game rebuilt and optimized for a modern game engine (any chance that could be an easter egg, maybe something modders could do?). This isn't to say I'm not excited for Sins of a Solar Empire 2 just not very imaginative in what could be done to improve SoSE. Long as it doesn't slow to a crawl in the multiplayer late game and supports COOP LAN play against AI and retains most of the feel and play of SoSE I'll be happy.
