"Currently I save my game and start a new game and use the console to give all technology and design the ships." Is there a chance I could get this console command? Would be handy.

Never saw the issue myself. Any race dumb enough to not start with a "Hubble" space telescope doesn't deserve to be playing space emperor... and map sizes are now huge vs Galciv2 . Though there should be a class for such ships, and scaling to map size. I only like it on extremely large maps.

PS: Galciv2 for OS/2 had an entire expansion-eaque thingy dedicated to ship design if I recall, called "Shipyards." So saying ship design wasn't present is only sorta-true. Isn't the original Galactic Civilizations made for OS/2 Frogboy? Don't deny your heritage... ;)
I always thought it was to simulate the static effect at the begining and end of a transmission since it seems to be at the very begining/end of the video loop. Yeah, but it only seems to happen with the Yor Collective...
I thought I might clarify, it's the diplomacy window where this seems to happen.
Basically, this problem has existed since day 1, but as far as I can tell no one has ever bothered to report it, and it drives me nuts something fierce. The Yor Collectives animation when talking to you "flickers" to pure white about every 10 seconds. It's sort of annoying, and seems like a simple fix. Perhaps something could be done? Oh, and thanks for making such a great game!
Might be a cool feature, though.
They said "In March". End of March=In March. They have no obligation to rush things, at any rate. The important thing is a quality product.
I think they said it was totally modable, not just "skinable".
A Planet "search" feature would be wonderful. Same for ships, etc.

. I believe we are talking more along the lines of high quality textures and models for the high end (so it looks nice), and not an entirely different engine for planet surface etc. (right?)
hat was my understanding of hos Galciv 2 worked graphical wise. I would really appreciate it though if a dev would come in and clear up the confusion.
at way, everyone is happy, and this debate is fairly pointless.
Right now it's all mixed up. It's a minor detail, but I still thought I should give my input.
The impression I get is that they are reusing old GalCiv1 where applicable (as in, when they can get away with it), but for the most part, writing entirely new code. At least, that's what I picked up.
I think the MiniMap is great rotated... I'd even go as far as to say it looks better this way. And yeah, you definently don't want your aspects mixed up. That can really get you disoriented after a while.
