To Brigiton: Good point about the leveling of accusations, I had meant my title to fall into the more of the joking side then accusations but if interpret otherwise by anyone then it was inappropriate. To FrogBoy: If they work then I am so going to have to do some rewrites of my modding util, ehh.. this won't be as easy as you changing the main data file location.
Following are items that are in the files but are linked to a technology that does not exist in the technology tree. They are divided up by Ship Components, Planetary Improvements, and Starbase Modules. The first item is the internal name of the component, improvement, or module. The second item (after the first dash) is the technology it is linked to currently. If there is a third item then it is the correct spelling of that technology
I thought it was to go gold at the end of Febuary not the end of January
Why when in details is says that the morale bonus from buildings is 70%, does the value from building in the morale calculation smart tip say 56% when at about 7.00 billion and 53% at 10 billion? What is up with the building morale bonus being population dependent?
I really like the idea about a Starbase summary screen.
Or move either the turn button or the minimap to the other side of the screen.
I didn't go from the GNN. I was looking around the map and thought to make a langer range colonizer to get to some planets I had found. Have not been able to duplicate but when launching a colonizer ship the form for adding people didn't appear until after I left the starport.
Problem is that I save just before I did that, nor could I open up the ship design screen again. It just was the screen I came back to when all other windows were closed. Nor did pressing the turn button make it go away, though it did advance the turn.
Had a case where I could not close the Ship Design window. I could call other windows up over it but I couldn't close the window. Had to CTRL+ALT+DEL out of the game. Nothing in the debug.err file. While test later to find out when it happens. This was on build 0.79[b].005
I got it through Stardock Central
Try they have a new version out now.
On point 2) If you are talking about the little icons that fall down the right side of the screen, you can get rid of those by right clicking.
Yes the XML files can be editted using Notepad, that however doesn't ensure the validity of the edits. I.E. it is very easy to mistype or misconnect the items in a chain. Nor does it mean that a program will not increase the ease of the modding. Especially once you start getting mods and are dealing with multiple files just for the technologies.
You have access to the same pre made ship list they do.
I am sure some fan somewhere will make an application for editting their files. Who knows it might be ready for the commercial release.
Yes the game is moddable. Even now, as I have done slightly just to check. I just don't know where to put files that I create and what to call them. At the moment I can change the base file and add to it, but I can't put new techs/improvement in another file.
I guess from my point of view I have always viewed the scanners as detecting the ships in Hyperspace, thus they are not that effective in normal space. Which is why I was of the opinion that while you might be in the same square as the planet, you won't necessaryly be able to pinpoint the enemy. But yes I would agree that a fleet should not become individual ships when it moves into orbit. I haven't played with fleets yet (never found the
At this point you cannot do that in game. If you save the race, you can open that file up in Notepad and edit the description there.
Or just have the same display format as Windows.
Problem with defending an planet: The enemy has the choice of engaging. They can disengage if they desire prior to the the battle actually occuring. Second a ship that is in actual orbit is a sitting duck for an attacker. In speed, speed, speed is the greatest weapon. And the attacker can generate alot of speed coming in. So if the defender doesn't want to get wipe off the map they have to go out and meet the attacker. Which gives
When customizing your race will you be able to set your starting morality? I think that should be an option, that does not cost anything.
You can "auto-launch" by setting a way point for ships from that planet to go to.
Did you install the multimedia?
I realize this might be a little late but...would it be possible to make governments modable. So that either we can change the bonus of a government or add additional ones?
