Dude, when i posted that I was only on my second game. I am playin against the AI, and it's not that bright, but it is aggressive on it's last two hardest settings. I haven't played online yet, but hopefully when work settle downs a bit and I have more time on to play I'll give it a swing. oh, heh, and I'm still trying to beat King's Bounty...

Well, if the new players, like me are biding their time until they learn more about the game, then that is why you haven't seen them online yet. There is no tutorial in the game, and learning it can be a little steep, not much, but still. You haven't seen me online due mainly because I'm not comfortable enough yet. Be patient, eh?

Finding too much fault with Sins of the Solar Empire is rather difficult, but one consistant complaint that I could come up with is the Pirates. The concept is nice but, to me, not well implemented. Early game pirates. Start with a few dozen frigates that have the ability to "tackle" player/AI ships. Tackle, meaning, cripple the ship, board it, take it over, and finally, tow it back to it's base. This should be done rather infrequently. Once back at the base

I'd have to agree with Vinraith, the only I know how to beat down my opponents in Sins is by utter military destruction. Well, that being said by a Vasari. My friends play the other races more than I so I can't speak for their armies. Heh I said "utter" moooo

My message was misdirected as I must've missed a section posted about tactical battles. For that I am truly sorry for my ignorance and idiocy. Should've checked the website again for new posts before I submitted. Man I need to lay off the beer.

When I run and use MyColors, it creates a Desktop.ini file, on my desktop. Is there a way to get rid of that without getting MyColors to forget where it's theme information is? The contents of the file is below: [.ShellClassInfo] LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-21769 IconResource=C:\Users\Public\Documents\Stardock\IconPackager\Quest\Quest Icon 18.ico,0

Force it to a 1:1 ratio? No liberty in forcing people. Also, if the game was perfectly balanced then it wouldn't be near as fun. Great stories arise from those who triumph over Glorious battles or Overwhelming odds, not from boring completely balanced ones that it's a 50/50 toss up over who'll win. Why does anything have to be balanced? Don't measure it upon that. Measure it on the fun you're having, or the challenges laid before you.

I've gotten 4 of my buddies who have the game to help us track down this bug. Thanks for the info Blair. We'll send any the necessary files as soon as we can.

And not a one of ya talked about, even though it's a TBS game, Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic. Great game, still has a thriving community, of modders and players, and the graphics are still beautiful to me after all this time. I fell into the Starcraft path for a while but just found that strategy should not be dictated by speed. RTS are fun, but just not my foray. I find RTS to be exactly on the same tier as FPS, cuz it's really a matter of hotkeys and accuracy, more than thought-indu
