What's the deal with support for IconPackager? in IconPackager Stardock Forums

Is anyone working on fixes for IconPackager 3.1? There have been several posts about problems with crashes, icon packages not applying correctly, etc., and this forum, which I assume is for support, seems noticeably quiet with little or no activity. What's the deal?

I'm using the registered version (3.10.101) and I agree. This version is really screwed up. I tried installing old Icon packages I have and some icons were correct, others were not. Trying to create a new icon package was even worse ... saving the package crashed the application. I deinstalled and reinstalled and it no longer crashes, but trying to save an icon package and then applying it does not produce the desired results. I've had to resort to using the standard

I'm seeing problems in this area too. I'm running the latest beta, and whenever I try to save a package it crashes. I deinstalled IconPackager and it gave me an error message about cache.dll. I noticed that Tivo desktop also uses a file called cache.dll. Could there be a conflict?

Try going into Iconpackager and disabling the option to Repair Shell Icons on the Tools pulldown menu. I started noticing certain programs that wouldn't launch on my machine anymore since installing Iconpackager 3.0 (such as NTBACKUP, Quicken 2005, and Snagit). Doing this seemed to fix the problems I was having. Granted, it's a workaround until Stardock fixes things, but now I can at least pay my bills. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/sd_com/smi
