useing multiple mods

want to use DS and Malestorm together

I load my two favorite mods in the active mods list but I can only use one or the other is there a way to get the benifits of multipule mods like DS and Malestrom.

Nope, individual mods for the most part are incompatible with each other unless they are made specifically to stack with each other. As an example DS has many addons packaged with their mod that are meant to stack with DS.

There is but it requires major code rework like syncing up manifests and conflict removal. With Distant Stars and Maelstrom being the kind of mods that they are (huge and epic and I mean that coding wise) this would be very difficult and long process. Not enough people want to do that kind of a job.

If you wanted to merge two small mods or a small mod and a big one it may be possible or easy to do, but two big ones like Maelstrom and DS would be a massive undertaking and would require a semi-experienced modder to make them compatible.

yeah I can understand that, I am wondering if there is a way to at least make a sub mod of just the races in Maelstrom and have it compatible

Personally if I was gonna do a mega merge it would be Maelstrom and the Sins of the Fallen mod. Just for extra snowlflakey goodness.

Ouch, that would cause the game to have conniptions. Overrun the game engine. Would be cool but the 32 bit limitations are too much for me.

As Ryat points out the problem is with the 32 bit limitations of Sins and also the Hardcoded limits of Sins.

For Maelstrom I have used all the 2000 sound files and going over that limit causes a minidump ... its one of the reasons I have not added other races.

Planet mods can't be stacked they have to be integrated.

^That explains a lot!

Have tried to make a combiner mod between maelstrom and requiem, kept failling miserably

Then tried to just isolate the files for the planets (dyson spheres, ring planets and all those weird type of planets i really want to bring over to other mods) and those for dreadnoughts, but alas no luck, bringing them to other mods seems to require more work then a  mere copy pasting of files
