yeah scooby dont quit, or surrender, hes pull plug. I havent played with him much, but he seems like a sound guy, maybe having an off day like a few of us now and again.

But it is frustarting soome noobs dont listen and end up camping, which makes the game 4v5 sometimes. but once the noobs get the right balance between camping and attacking, then its all good.

One word : EGO

If a player with an ego whos looking out for his own reputation gets hindered in a team game by a newb , the best course of action to keep this player in the game (if hes passionately pissed off)  is to ackknowledge to him that the reason he has lost has nothing to do with his skill but that of the noob and the resulting loss will have no damage to his reputation.

normally by this stage the ego skilled player calms down and accepts the acknowlegment and stays in the game , accepting that even if he loses he can be proud to have done as well as he can , given the circumstances of who he is allied to.

Well thats what I wud have done..just to keep that player in the game and not turn the game sour.

accusing him of making up excuses is exactly what I would not do...as it would probably result in pushing a pasionately pissed off player into passionately leaving the game..which is sorta whats happened here.

If he is so passionate, he should know defets will only make his stronger. He should carefuly analise the game , see what was done wrong and come to conclusions: if he made a mistake, , he will know haw to avoid it, if he didnt, his ego is safe.

Unfortunately in some cases there is only passion for his ego , cause what is the point of puling?

yeah ive read it. unfortunatly Scooby is not the best person to have on your team. he makes alot of mistakes and overall he is only an average player. he just barely got in the clan at the beginning. he is only a slightly above average player, and almost definatly the weakest person in DU.

in sins he acts like a jerk alot, mouthing off at newbs and other things like that while he himself didnt do very well.

His record is complete bs 90% of games that he loses he will DC so it looks like he is good, while in reality he isnt very good.

i like playing with him usually becuase i know him well and i try to keep him from doing stupid things but it doesnt work.

Really if you are playing with scoob expect him to try, and dc at the end.

So let me get this straight...

If someone has 100 games, 60 wins and 15 losses and they press quit their record goes to 101-60-15 but...

If someone with the same record of 100-60-15 pulls the plug and disconnects, their record stays the same at 100-60-15?

Is that the advantage of disconnecting?

Ha that is retarded but now I know why about half the people in ICO do it.  And I thought it was lame when people were pressing the quit button instead of the surrender button... (when there is nothing left for the comp to take over)

Some online gaming sites have the notion of ranked games vs. unranked games.   Ranked games count.  Unranked games don't.   They're just for fun, socializing, and you can play around with goofy settings like unfair random maps or 2v4.   If you DC a ranked game, it's always a loss.  It is you who chose it to "count".  If you don't like it, beat up your internet provider to give you a more reliable connection.

This would be horrible in sins.

If theres people out there who would AFK and force you to spend hours mopping up planets in a game without rankings , then imagine what would it be like if there was rankings

Players would AFK if they are losing and the opposition has 3 choices - Spend the next 1-2 hours mopping up planets , quit and lose to the AFK player or disconnect and get a black mark.

This is why ranks and ladders will not work in Sins.

In general.  When I look at someone's record I only look at the first 2 numbers.  Total Games and Wins.  I don't care the excuse, rhyme, or reason to why a person has "mysterious" games that are neither wins or loses because in my book I count them all as loses.  So total games minus the wins equal the loses and an end of question to that. 

Also, if we all opened a forum topic with the replay of someone's end game rant we would say many rants and many replays.  Simply a matter of life that some people take the game more siriously than others and are utterly incapable of taking responsibilty for themselves and because they "know" it wasn't their problem that caused the loss and they feel the need to blame others and making that blame known through ALL CHAT so that they cover all ends of a finger's ability to point blame at them.  I say.  Shrug it off, talk sh!t in the end game lobby debrief OR leave before you can hear all the sh!t talk against ya, or just simply ignore it...  Not worth posting a thread unless you really want to get this kid's attention though I dought he frequents the forums....

Your theory workswell but I remeber the time of hosts quiting so i have about 100wins not counted because host left.
